Hey guys would just like to introduce my self and share with you my dream car that i have finally obtained just over 2 months ago, in this thread i will keep uze updated with the new modifications etc in which i will be doing to my new car, well to start of my name is Andre im 18 years old and am of my Ps and on P2's which means i dont show my P plates which is good especially in a skyline. My passion for jap cars grew and grew as i bought my first car back when i turned 16 which was a 1999 Nissan N15 Pulsar series 2, i had decked this car out with performance parts, custom interior, full sound system and some tasteful body styling and i happen to use that car as a project car to overhaul into a good looking street car. about 5 months ago i happened to sell my pulsar as i was over it and wanted more power so i followed my dream and took the adventure of finding my ideal immaculate R33 GTS-T Skyline which of course had to be a series 2 :P. I have always loved nissan skylines because they have been in and out of my family for years and years and i have gained such a good knowledge of them over the years, so to cut the story short 3 months had passed and i still had no car it was so depressing driving around mums kia rio, after looking interstate and looking on carsales, gumtree etc just about every morning and night was quite depressing, after viewing an endless amount of R33s I was quite disappointed and ready to give up as they did not meet my standards and were obviously thrashed, boosted and mistreated unfortunately, but after the endless amount of time I wasted looking at pieces of junk I happened to find this R33 that I fell in love with before I even had a proper look at it, this car was on the internet for about an hour and I had spotted it so I gave the bloke a call and went straight to his house to have a look at it, I actually didn’t want a white R33 I really wanted a silver one but this one I fell in love with, after looking at it for just over an hour with my dad and uncle we could not find one thing wrong with it at all everything was perfect apart from the idle hunting issue but that was nothing, after coming to the agreement we sorted out a price and left a deposit to my newly obtained 1996 R33 Series 2 Nissan Skyline!!!! :D

When I bought it the following mods were already on it

-Standard Rear Skyline Strutbrace

-3Inch Jasma Catback exhaust

-18inch Gmax Engima Rims with New Nexen 235 Tyres

-Some dodgey asian stereo that looked quite ancient

-Sony Speakers all round

I am still up to this day extremely happy about finding this skyline, I thought I would never find one this clean, the paint work is in immaculate condition, the interior is in great condition never smoked in and no tears or rips what so ever, all electrics work and the best part about it is I am the second official owner of the car and I had received two full folders of service history and receipts from overseas, My skyline is a yellow stickered import as the bloke I had bought it of had imported the car here when he moved here which was another bonus because I knew that the car had not been tampered and had been driven responsibly. After that long writeup its time for some photos ill post some of my old car aswell and I will start this thread with photos of when I first got it etc ENJOY and keep your eye on this thread ;)

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
