I've recently bought a large pantech truck set up as a car transporter with tailgate loader etc etc.

The sides are corrugated aluminum which I rekon looks tacky.

So I want to redo the sides of the pan with flat alloy panels.

I've been told to use something called aluclad which sign writters use but thought I'd ask on here if anyone has any other products which are a light and give a nice appearance and easy to obtain

I'm not fussed about cost I don't mind spending good money as long as it's a decent product and will last.

I have considered plastics and colored Perspex it's heavy compared to even .6mm steel panels

Any advise or experience is appreciated

Are you going to be using any internal frame supports Brad???

A couple of trucks I've seen have ended up looking terrible (you can see ripples all down the panels) as there wasn't enough support.

On our old boxed trailer/transporter we ended up using mdf walls with a .4mm steel panel over the top for easier signage etc and a cheaper alternative to probond.

Yeah there is a steel frame around the truck now which has corrugated steel riveted to it.

I was considering unbolting the whole pan and fabricating a new alloy frame and using that instead. Mainly to try and keep the weight down.

Or just drill out the old panels and rivet on the new alloy stuff. Don't want to leave the old crap behind it.

I'll look at those products today thanks guys.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
