Fitted Led Bulbs To Taillights Now Dash Lights Up When Brakes Are Applied?

hey all, just recently fitted led bulbs to my r33 gtst tail lights. They actually look quite nice...more of a vivid red colour and quicker response than standard bulbs. The problem I'm having is that when I push on my brakes the dash and parkers light up as well as the tail lights. I've read somewhere that fitting a 6A diode will rectify this problem. The thing is I don't know where or how to fit them lol I picked up 4 of the diodes yesterday as I didn't know how many I would need so it would be great if someone could help me out as I'm not really electricaly savvy. Thanks
