theponyremark
Hi all, I am getting idle issues whereby the idle and voltage meter of the car sputters/goes between 500rpm to 800rpm when I turn the A/C on. Be it on low or high setting. Turning the heater on the low or high setting doesn't do this. The car idles fine otherwise. I noticed sometimes if I'm at the traffic lights, it may go below 800rpm at idle for a brief few seconds and go back to normal, but only if I press the brake pedal a little too hard. I've recently put in new NGK IX spark plugs and checked all the coil packs. Could this be an ACC problem or do I need to get the A/C re-gassed? The A/C works fine other than causing the idling issue. mad082
will most likely be the AAC valve. the AAC valve (auxillary air control) adjusts when things like the aircon is turned on, or the steering turned, as there is a higher load placed on the engine so the ecu compensates. look in the DIY section on how to clean the AAC and see if that helps your issue. theponyremark
Thanks for that Hugh, I had a look at the tutorial but I might grab a friend to help out in case I stuff it up. jiffo
From memory................25 has 2-idle controls, AAC and the aircon. AAC is brown plug, aircon is purple plug. Easy to test, just pull the plugs one at a time to see what does what. theponyremark
Thanks jiffo, I'll give that a test and see what that does before dismantling the IAC valve.
