Im wandering what realistic rwkw figures i should be geting out fo a RB20DET running 14PSI boost 600x300x76 frount mount, microtech LTX-12 running it all.W70 hks plugs only 2 1/2 inch mandrel ex .it seems to run very rich about 11.6 to 1 and usually at 38ish degrees ignition from 2000 rpm onwards its all in my R31 aussie skyline and its not what i had hoped it would be any ideas???

The 2.5 inch exhaust may be hurting your figures a bit but if it's tuned right and a healthy engine you should be getting anywhere between 150 and 160rwkw

As a reference mine made 164 on 12psi stock computer, pod, 80mm turbo back exhaust, 400x300x60 frontmount with 16 degrees base timing, in shootout mode.

The engine is in good condition and ive got a K&N pod and my intercooler piping is all 3" mandrel(yes i know 3" piping & 2 1/2" ex???)so its not reastricting anything.IM a little concearned with the exhaust but more so with the tune i.e 11.6 to 1 afr above 2000 rpm(thats runnin real rich) the base ignition timing is 10 as per microtech set up but hits 38 at 2000 & stays there? My problem is out here in country hicksville(just moved from BRISSY) no one knows how to tune microtech & i dont know who to use in syd or canberra (ANY IDEAS ON WHO IS A GOOD TUNER) When it all got up & runnin & tuned it made 150 rwhp which i figure is only 110ish rwkw IM NOT HAPPY & as i said out here is ****ed up i mean ive been asked three times why my radiator is polished & hangin out the front. So who do i see for a good tune?? I want reliability as well as kw & i dont want to be replacing the motor anytime to soon

Yeah, 11.6 is pretty rich but mine did it running 11.8 at the top end.

I'd be looking to bring the mixtures back to around 12-12.5 and have a good look at the ignition timing. It should really be running base timing of 15 degrees too. I reckon you'll find it's a bit of a dog with that timing.

I cant really remember but i think the microtech gives you timing on top of base timing on the display. I never really looked at that when i had one, mainly fueling.

For tuning in sydney you can't go past CRD in Silverwater but you will pay through the nose for it. I've never heard a complaint from anyone who has had a tune by these guys though.

Also Unique Autosports in Castlehill, JEM in Moorebank, V&E Rigoli in Wetherill Park would be worth a look.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
