Accidentally Took Off Some Paint Using Pressure Cleaner.

Hey guys, I feel like shit right now, cleaning and prepping my car for the JDM cruise tomorrow, and I decided to use a small pressure cleaner to help get off some of the stubborn dirt.

Didn't really realise how strong the pressure was before I took off 2 inches of paint off the roof of my R34 GTT (white). See pics.

What is the best way to fix this without having to respray the whole car?

Temporary fix would be give it a light rub remove the loose paint then use touch up paint .

Long run the roof will need a respray sorry bud

I try to give a bit off distance when pressure cleaning

I blasted the paint of my front bar on my old supra and have always been hesitant since

Thanks for the fast reply. I'll go around getting quotes for a roof job, hopefully not too expensive.

Regarding touch up paint - anyone know where to get it / match colour? Never needed to do this.

My r33 (white) is flaking off on the roof mate, so i have to be extremely hesitant with my small pressure cleaner, and even the car lovers ones not to take it off. Now you have that mark, so will you.

Mine was like it when i bought it, and on the bonnet from stone chips too. I just looked up the paintcode (i think here) and bought some cans from supercheap. A couple of white ones, plus primer and clear coat. Rubbed it back a little, applied primer, then paint, then clear. Im sure you can read up on it a little more on here though for techniques, masking etc.

In the end, white is the easiest colour and in that regard you are lucky. Mine has lasted well over 12 months now (due again though) and looked decent. If you are a perfectionist, it probably wont cut it for long though. Good luck with it.

Not long after I had my 33 i was spraying the bonnet and right down on the bottom lip of it in between the headlights I had paint come off in a few sections. Easy temp fix with the right colour paint mine is white thankfully as well. Never used a high pressure cleaner again not worth it IMO just use higher quality car cleaning products

fark spewing man, when u you a pressure cleaner its gotta be like only a fraction stronger pressure then ur normal hose pressure on max, otherwise ur kinda being stupid about cleaning... the stubborn dirt / grit in the future use a clay bar then polish after it to bring the paint up immaculate..

I have a gurney at my toyota work and i cleaned my first car i bought with it which had some minor stone chips, when i gurney'd it on high pressure it made the stone chip look bigger

spewing about your situation man but in the future use what i said earlier and your own pressure from your hands rather then something that's more used for driveways etc.

Lol I've seen people put JDM stickers on worse places, that would have been fine.
