Is This Normal?

Well I know stock gauges are a bit hit and miss with accuracy and their range of scope,

Before I'm told yes I will get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

I have 2 videos, the first while driving a warm car and a cold night

The second is at home in my driveway after a 15 min drive so plenty warm

The gauge is reading low and up and down allot. Driving makes little difference unless I belt it.

Is this normal? Is my oil pump getting old? Oil to heavy, or thin maby?

Normal warm days it's usually fine between 4 and 8 but it has cought my eye being low randomly before. Never had a warning light. Plenty of oil in their, will do another filter and oil change but I guess my question is their something I should be concerned about above and beyond general oil maintenance or is the huge just being a stock gauge?

Don't trust the gague if u haven't had a warning light ( oil pressure light ) and u are not losing oil car drives fine then ur right mate

Also put an aftermarket gague on it and keep an eye on it !

Lol yup. Thank mate I suspected as much, hey what level/ pressure does the oil light actually come on at?

Not sure about that but if it's on turn the car off straight away and get it towed till u know why it's on

if u see that light and keep driving id say u won't get far

haha yeah i know, allot of the time especially late holdens, if that light comes on you may not have enough time to stop before seizing

dont use the stock gauges as an accurate indicator... but yes if the oil light comes on.. pull over..

Have you tried a different oil pressure sender? Another gauge/cluster?

no i havnt, i will just get an aftermarket guage which i assume would use its own sender?
