Hey Im bored at work so I thought Id do a quick write up on a new street car we've built.

So I have a sil80 which was getting a new engine, but, I didnt want to sell the stock motor because it had been stupidly reliable and also another drifter/ street car was something we were after. A friend was selling a sort of rolling ceff shell with the necessary bits for an ok drift car, coil overs etc. No engine either, making life a bit easier. I always want what other people have and after getting jelly over kriss' ceffy it was a no brainer really. Well a no brainer bar the brief encounter with wanted to sr20 an 86 we had.. which was sold shortly after. SO much rust!

Word of advise. Dont buy a stripped ceffy. All those little bits are impossible to find. If you find them they are stupidly expensive.

So it was decided to finally pull the stock motor out of the sil80 just before christmas when the front main & crank went.

So this is what I had saved on the desk top for inspiration

And so I bought a series 3 front bar, autech skirts and bonnet becuase the shell didnt have anything and then it looked like this (te37s were just thrown on to roll it around)

Then looking through the boxes of crap that came with the car, i relised there was only a serverly munted loom and no interior. FML.

Sent it off to primal to be painted in Marakesh brown for something a bit left of centre. I had this one saved for inspiration

Got it back from primal and thats when the real fun was going to begin.

Engine went in without a hitch really. Sooo much room in the bay its like its meant to be

Then i orderd some square headlights and front bar parkers from YJ.

It cranked the next day and we thought it would all be down hill. Then the next month or so was spent working out why there was no spark. It was time for matsuri and it wasnt starting, so we ended buying a munted ceffy for the loom and interior parts. I dont have any pics of it. No need really. Its since been cut into bits and wrecked for future if this brown one incurs any damage drifitng.

In the rush, I bought some enkei rpf-01 17x9 + 22 due to not being able to wait the 9 weeks for cst's.. which i still havent ordered. Even with the new ceffy loom it wouldnt start and it was too late. It didnt make matsuri. Lost motivation and sat it there for about 3 weeks untouched

Later it was found to be sr engine loom... it was working fine the sil but might of rubbed on somethng when going in. Started it and it was leaking oil again. Turns out key way was stuffed and replaced it. Started runnning still pretty rough.

Got the exhaust modded to twin tips, bought a bride zeta, chucked in interior and 4 point cage. Wired up the lights and here we are.

It caught on fire on the weekend due to the battery shorting., no damage except for a munted odyssey battery $250 worth and fire estinguisher powder all in the boot.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
