i dunno whether its just my perspective or not but i think that in the past year or 2 the emphasis on imports has headed strongly towards drifting. i remember when i first got into imports. it was so cool to put a gtr badge on ur car, get batman chrome wheels and a veilside bodykit. even i thought so. i like a bit of tasteful rice i.e. BN/ vertex body kits, minus rear wing and dished jap rims but i really don't see the appeal of making ur car look like a dodgey batmobile. Have chrome wheels and batman body kits gone out of style or is it just me?

and...

not really related too much to this topic but why isn't there any decent wheel manufacturers in aus!!!!? i suppose R#H and Sp33dy supply for their market but there is a serious lack of any quality respectable rims made in aus. surely there is a market for it. drift r's... well the thought was there... drift rims don't usually weight 100ks each though do they? I think there would be others out there that would really appreciate an aus conmpany putting in a genuine effort to supply for this demand.

in my mind veilside kit still looks very nice, but as it attract too much of attention, i will put something low profile but still looks good.

Chrome wheel arn't that bad, but aust. car owner now only interest at light weight jap wheel.

first thing is they think every jap wheel are light weight but actual they aren't.

And famous wheels maker like "Volk" & "work" do manufacture chrome wheel!

AVS wheel model 5 which using on GT300 - is available in chrome!

i think australia wheel manufacturer have already try their best, sure they know how to make light weight wheels, but they have to keep the wheel strong enough for commie they have to make it heavy.

Forge technology seems to be too expensive and won't make the money, if they are selling Roh wheels for 1000 each, how many people will buy them? the real thing is every people love them but not much people able to afford them, see TE37 is how rare in adelaide? even u seen a car wearing them, they migh be second hand...

what's wrong with a vertex or BN sports kit lol you just named the 2 kits that I own and am deciding to put on my wingless R32 (the other will then go for sale, yes I bought both, no I'm not nuts) quite possibly to go with Gram Lights bronze/chrome deep dish rims which I'm sourcing from Japan.

hmmm never liked veilside, never will, their kits look like duck beaks or F1 fighter jets, not aggressive cars. I used to have a bomex S15 kit on my 180sx, but now that I have the 32, its all about clean lines and aggressive stance. The BN and vertex kit were made with mad camber in mind which means I can fit wider rims and still stay legal (albeit with higher tyre wear).

In other rice news I also own an HKS CAMP and a Bee-R Rev limiter :) Oh and a factory option light up skyline panel.

maxx: when i made mention to "batman chome wheels" i was sorta talkin more about the ones that look like they have been designed by a toddler who is just learning to draw. u know the ones with no dish and and "fancy" designs. if it's a wheel, it should look like a wheel. every man to his own though aye.

funkymonkey: those gramlights ur talkin bout... are they the gl57f pro's... mine will be ariving next week. damn! i thought i was goin to be the only 1!! oh well.

BN sports is probably one of the least ricey looking IMHO, very tough phat and drifty looking:)  the front bar for an R33 doesnt do it for me though, but R32, S13/14, FD3, hmm tasty.

Really hav'nt liked anything to come out of Veilside with the exceptions of RX7 kit and Integra, But the R34 GTR kit is terrible.

One kit i really like is the Top Secret R34 front spoiler, u can fit huge intercoolers  and the front isn't as low as my stand lip ( which i scrap constantly on Adelaide roads :))

Well in my opinion i think the word "RICE' has been taken way too far.

Like everything these days is "RICE"

Owning an import as clasified as rice to some people and it really shit's me.

But thats my opinion anyway. But i can tell you there is about to be an influx of BN kits for 32's and 33's

We have already sold 6 or 7 BN's JUST for 33's unsure about the 32's

But yeah the BN kits for 32's and 33's are awesome!

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
