Hello Everyone....

After a bit of talking in the SAU NEWCASTLE thread we have decided to have a meet and greet, and maybe go for a quick cruise somewhere if people are interested on the day etc.

Date / Time:

Sunday 8th July 2012 / 12.00 Noon

Location:

Mattara

333 Charlestown Road

Charlestown NSW

meetup in the large carpark behind the pub off Tallarra Street.. low car friendly carpark and plenty of room!

http://www.mattara.com.au/

Plan:

basically turn up, meet/talk and look at each others cars, then head into the pub overlooking the carpark i believe and have a beer and some food if you want, if not can head off from there. After a drink or two and a feed, we may decide to go for a quick cruise around somewhere, if it happens and were we go can be decided on the day pending interest. We hope the location suits, we tried to cater for as many as possible deciding on a pretty central location.

This is not for just SAU members or skyline owners, anyone is more than welcome to come in any car they want, Just please dont turn up and act like a tosser (we all know the rules im sure).

Also if any Sydney people are keen for the drive, also very welcome!

Any questions, post up here and im sure we can sort them out.

Hope to see you all there.

This is not an official SAU-NSW cruise, but regardless, on this cruise we will ALL be sticking to the speed limit. There will be

NO DRIFTING.

NO BURNOUTS

NOTHING ILLEGAL!

We will be the most courteous users on the road, and we will not be doing ANYTHING to cause any disrepute for the club.

Cheers,

Anthony

yes, i do have candy in my car. hahaha

will be good to meet local guys and we can make this a regular thing!

Hey Jarrad & Anthony - it was good to meet you two last week.

I'm heading to Perth that arvo, but i should be able to drop in for an hour or so before i head off.

Good to meet you to mate, hopefully you have time to drop in and catchup again.

This is true... I will make an attempt to get up there :)

Yea mate, we will most likely be around there till about 2pm or something.. no rush really.

Ooh you made the thread :D I'll be there guys!!

Nice one mate, fingers crossed your car will be there to!

Really looking forward to this, BEST thing is there is a very good chance the car will be with me as it is half tuned and running well so far!

JEM had someone do the screamer etc, so i am not sure mate.... The 3" Exhaust is just going back on for now as it is quiet.... Its causing lag and also probably issues with power BUT its quiet so itll have to do for now!

Only problem is having 2 tunes....

On the cruise thing, I have 3 mates coming too... Probably only one of them will bring their cars as one is probably written off due to a loser and the other.... Well it's probably not smart to have on the street lol

the two tunes is not a massive issue....just plug the laptop in and load it up.

what do you mean by not smart to have on the street.....

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
