ITEM: Series 2 VS V6 Manual commodore

PRICE: $3000 firm

LOCATION: Mount Gambier SA 5290. Will deliver the car to Adelaide or Melbourne if deposit is laid

YEAR: 1996

SERIES: VS

BADGE: Executive

ENGINE: 3.8L V6 ecotec

TRANSMISSION: 5spd getrag

COLOUR: Green. I believe the correct name is botanica mica

EXTERIOR CONDITION: cosy cosy. paint on the bonnet and front quarter is average. apart from that body is fine. just a few scratches

INTERIOR CONDITION: Good

TYRE CONDITION: 70% rear 90% front

TYRE SIZE INCLUDING LOAD RATING: 15 inch with vt hubcaps

ODOMETER: 256 odd

SERVICE HISTORY: Up to around 180k i reckon. I have a reciept for a large service just done.

REGO OF CAR: SA rego.

REGO TILL: 16th of august i believe

PLATES INCLUDED: sure.

RWC: Dont need them in SA

OTHER INFO: Gday I have my Mothers VS Commodore up for sale. She is selling as she has 6 kids and needs a van to cart them all around tongue.png

As she is an older lady it hasnt been molested/flogged by a younger owner. Its completely stock standard apart from the sound system and window tint which is the darkest legal (keeps car cool and looks good). It runs like a dream and everything works flawlessly. It has just had a major service done and here is a list of good points and recent work done

-Oil and filter changed 1000k ago

-Plugs and leads were done last week

-Inlet manifold was just replaced

-Brand new tyres on front and good ones on the back

-AC WORKS and is icey cold

-Reasonably new o'brians windscreen

-Stock STD height, STD exhaust, STD wheels

-Has a receipt from the old owner for 3000 dollars worth of sound gear. It currently has my 2 2000w amps and 2 kenwood subs which will NOT come with the car unless bought seperatly off me.

-Darkest legal window tint

-Has sound deadening

-New roof lining. Good interior and good body

-Getrag 5spd manual with a good clutch

The BAD POINT.

There is only one bad point about this car and thats the bonnet and front quarter panel have paint fade. the bonnet isnt very bad as its not throught the clear coat and might come up with a cut and polish I have been quoted by a local spraypainter for 190 to get this fixed if i give him the panels. Photos will show fade. but it is sort of hard to see in photos.

My mother doesnt need money and due to how well this car runs/has been looked after she is pretty firm on price. I recently drove it to Adelaide from mount gambier and got 650k out of a tank and was incredibly smooth unlike my skyline. Inspections/test drives welcome. If you are looking for a non defectable relaible daily with a healthy motor and not fussed on how a car looks or sounds this is the car for you.

      I said Garrett style. Not Garrett genuine. And something in the G30 550 range is what you want. Not those pokey little old fashioned T28 sized things. The intake ports in the head are small. There is little benefit in fattening up the runners and leaving ths actual ports small. Just run what you've got. And on the subject of Nistune vs Haltech etc..... You know you can control the transmission with decent standalone ECUs these days, right? No need to keep any of that old Nissan bullshit. Don't get me wrong - I use Nistune on my Neo. But it is a DET, so the number of bodges and workarounds I had to do to make it work in a chassis without ABS, TCS, etc, is quite small compared to the herniated arsehole you will have trying to make it work on a motor that doesn't have some of the things that the turbo ECU wants to see. Just easier to bite the bullet and go aftermarket outright.

      Ok so will run the piping over that radiator and no plenum it is. Put that money towards a Haltech and see what suits. Any ideas something like an elite 2000 or 2500 right? My long term goal is 300kw e85 and manual swap and that’s a dream come true. For now will be 200kw and auto the stock rb25det neo intake isn’t too expensive with throttle body. If I was to have the port matching done, Would that be better than the stock de intake as the det has bigger holes plus has the spots for sensors etc? And suit more long term?  appreciate the advice?

      You understand AFR is not the only thing that contributes to it pinging yeah? Funnily, what the AFR gauge will tell you when it likely is pinging, is going to make you think things are really safe and good.
