Got a question for Jay (assumed you would be the man in the know on this subject), but hopefully anyone with some knowledge of legal public art can chime in.

Getting married in just over a month and have some ideas for the photography for the day. As much as garden shots are pretty, we also want some urban pics.

We had an idea of the Morphett Street Bridge, get some pics with the local artwork. easy.

Had another thought, that it would be cool to have a photo of us both spray painting something on the wall, or have a pic next to something we have an actual street artist produce. The latter being my preference.

Is a legal wall 'legal' for anyone at any time to throw up a piece as they see fit? Or is council permission sought for every mural that is produced?

We have a particular theme/artwork that I have carried over when creating the save the dates to the invites, and also through to the stubby coolers and shot glasses as gifts for guests - so it would have been great to have something similar thrown up on a wall and have a shot with it.

morphett street is pretty much the only legal 'walk up' wall where you can spray whatever you like whenever you like.

i have a few people i could ask if you wanted something in particular painted, supplying the paint would almost guarantee they would paint whatever you want.

would be awesome to arrange a wall of your own, that way there would be no real rush and it would stay up. but morphett bridge could be made to work. with enough people with cameras and some lighting setups around it would deter anyone else coming along and claiming part of the wall while your in progress. if you would like me to ask around just let me know. did you have a date in mind?

i love the idea, would definitely be a unique wedding shoot and i cant wait to see pics

Mate that would be fantastic - i'll supply as much paint as is required.

Wedding is on the 15th Dec, expect we'll be swinging by the city on the way to the reception at around 5pm. So anytime before then, and before some wigga tags it! lol.

How long would the hanging bird cage and name in that specific font (i'm picky!) take - an hour?

not sure what they would expect. reliability also seems an issue. plenty of 'oh im keen' yet no further action

Who'da thought grafitto taggers would be unreliable employees hey! haha

oh well, i'll put that idea to bed. dammit!

    • Good to hear. Hopefully you're happy enough not to notice when driving and just enjoy yourself.

    • Did you pick up a manual cluster to remove the position indicator?  (Pretty sure the 34 has the gear position in the cluster, but it's been a while)
    • Here is a recipe. Sonic blocks till you get one that has a good enough bore. Get a torque plate and block brace, use your choice of fasteners (arp ect) bolt the thing together empty, half fill it and let it cure. Release it when it has, go to a REPUTABLE RB Builder and get the thing line bored/honed and cylinder honed to size, then wash. Once its all clean and dandy, wash and blow it out again. Then again.  Assemble said engine to your desired clearances with oil control mods, gasket to suit desired CR/Squish ect. Attach your extended sump with proper trap door oil baffles and head drain plumbed to sump with a SUMP BREATHER SYSTEM. Build your front diff with a decent LSD, rebuild your transfer case with a few extra plates, more than likely replace your tailshaft centre bearing and tighten up the rear diff. Tune to minimise excessive midrange cylinder pressure (timing unless you like to split bores and rebuild engines) Enjoy your engine, but hate the fact you are now destroying engine mounts, gearboxes, gearbox mounts, diff output flanges and driveshafts, diff mounts, tailshafts and front CV's.   Disclaimer.... Ive never done any of the aforementioned stuff.......
    • 440s will support well over 400HP on petrol, which is a decent place to be for an RB20. 230+rwkW. Will be a safer bet for idle/low load. 550s would be nice for the extra headroom. I've made the same decision with mine (Neo25). 1000s are probably too big for the Nistuned ECU, so I have some smaller ones.
