I'm chasing at least 200 rwkw tomorrow.

Mods incl emanage, e-01 boost controller, hks split dump, hks 3" front, high flow cat, hks 3.5 cat back, trust fmic, k&n filter.

Tuner did preliminary air/fuel tune on Sat and got 48 extra rwhp (from 190 to 238). In kw terms that's an increase from 141.8 rwkw to 177.5 at .80 bar (11.6 psi). Misfiring at around 4500 rpm up. Could not tweak air/fuel ratios beyond 4500 rpm. He asked me to change the plugs.

I did that on Sun...NGK iridiums were replaced with NGK BCP6RES (.8mm gap). I had a heated argument with sales person at local Repco branch when he insisted that R34s do not use cheap plugs. I just asked him to shut up and give me the cheap plugs (geez this website is really very helpful). Amazing result! Engine now revs smoothly all the way up to redline.

So, I'm after an extra 32 rwhp (23.8 rwkw) to bring power up to 270 rwhp (201.4 rwkw).

Do you guys think it's achievable with the rest of the rev range from 4500 available for tweaking? (I was thinking of boosting it up to 1.0 bar).

Hi, yeah i had the emanage and the e-01 in my car for a while. The max I could get outta the stock turbo was .97. Unforunately our AFM wont allow anything else, was peaking out at 5 volts. Without a front mount/dump/highflow cat and with a 4" cat back i pulled 161rwkw on BMT's dyno. Mine used to misfire as well by when i installed the emanage it took care of that problem.

I'm about ready to install a PFC and z32 with a front mount. Just trying to decide where to get it all done. From what everyone is saying Ice I will probably be paying them a visit shortly.

Thanks for all the advise guys. Cheers....Nick

Another Q for the 34 owners, wat do u gap ur plugs at, .8 or .7.

Abo-Bob what turbo u running?

Toby19 Your trust front mount, i'm guessing that its the kit was designed for a 34 (designed as in all the piping came with the kit). I was thinking of ordering this as well but just wanted to ask was it hard to fit. I am planning on fitting mine. Does your kit go thru the battery shelf or around? A pic would really help me out. Thanks mate.

Nick

Groundrun,

Trust FMIC was designed specifically for the 34. No adjustments needed, body kit needs no cutting. pipes follow stock flow (cold air outflow is diverted to bottom of cooler to meet with stock throttle intake pipe. No hassles. With plug gap, like I said before 0.8mm seems to be the optimum for a mildly tuned car. Try it, it's not that expensive.

Abo Bob, I will be using 1.0 bar on stock turbo. Greddy E-01 has 4 boost settings: off-.55 bar (7.9 psi) which is the factory boost, low, high and over-take boost ( duration of which can be timed from 1sec upwards). I will be setting low boost at .7 bar (10.2 psi), high boost at .8 bar (11.6 psi) and over-take boost at 1.0 bar for 30 seconds (good for short spurts).

Groundrun,

Not very good photos but you will see that engine bay looks very stock. Both intake and outflow pipes are directed towards the same side. The outflow pipe is run from lefthand side of fmic through the bottom onto the right side. Cooler fits perfectly

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
