1) My idea is that putting a 'Like' button at the end of every post. I have used a few other forums with this feature and I must say it is a very nice feature.

Pros:

  • Post Spam - You ask a question - you get a reply, not really worthy of a blank post saying "Thanks" due to the type of question - It will show your respect without spamming the thread.- Example: Did you own a R32 GTR or a R32? Response - R32 GTR - Like. (Not really worthy of a "Thanks".
  • Appreaction of a post that you thought was witty/ helpfu - Not making your post or thread feel useless when effort is put in.
  • No 'Dislike' button so you won't recieve a negaitive jester when not wanted / needed.
  • A level of satisfaction when recieving a like.

Cons:

  • Following the Facebook 'Like' feature - Some people may find it a Facebook thing and not for forums (Hashtags belong on Twitter etc).
  • Extra cluster on a thread - it would soon be the norm after a few days - but can be an issue for some

2) Second Idea is to put @Name - this helps when wanting to call someone out - example: "@Not a Pulsar Didn't you find a fix for this issue?"

Pros:

  • If you are quoted or mentioned somewhere, you will always be notified (Do note, the person has to use @name for it to come up in the notification window).
  • Easier use instead of quoting, when you don't have a post to quote.
  • Easier way to grab someone's attention if they have a possible answer (Example above).
  • If you know of someone wanting to buy a part you can @name them and it'll notifiy them - also good for a sellers point of view - more traffic to their thread.
  • Hyperlinks to their profile if clicking on the tagged name

Cons:

  • @tagging spam - People can be idiots and @name someone in many of posts and they will get a notification - troll factor.
  • If you did not want to be mentioned but you were / called out - Regardless, you would normally come across the said post - but you are notified to back yourself up instead of letting the claims against you sit there.
  • Following the Facebook 'Tagging' feature - Some people may find it a Facebook thing and not for forums (Hashtags belong on Twitter etc).

Sorry if this has already been suggested.

Like Not a Pulsar likes this and 15 others.

Great thread - thanks.

Originally the 'reputation' system on Invision allowed users to increase or decrease a users reputation, as well as leave comments. This was disabled immediately as we could see that the system would not be taken seriously and people would misuse it. However, the latest version of Invision has a cool new addon which allows for a simple 'like' button as you have suggested, doesnt allow negatives or comments. Brilliant! I have enabled it and 'liked' your post already. :)

Yes! The @name addon is one I want also. It would be really beneficial to be notified when your name has been mentioned. This is on my list and there is likely already a plugin for it which means I'll get it installed today or over the weekend.

Thanks Jeremy!

@@PranK Glad to see that you like my idea and have already implemented the ideas.

I can see the tag working in the post, however the forum has kinda pooped itself, so I am unable to see if I get a notification (Not sure if it's because of the new plugins or because I'm using the work Internet Explorer).

Yeah, the install of the @Mention hook ran a query which locked all the database tables ... bleugh.

Trying again; @

The forum is still disfigured. So I am unable to see any Notification menues or tabs.

I'll take a screenshot for you.

However, if the tag shows like this @@PranK (Hyperlinked) It will be working.

Okay.. So... I cannot use the computers browser because I am unable to login after I deleted my cache (i get logged out and there is no top bar / login with the disfigured forum). So I am currently on my phone.

I'll try it when I get home. My work browser is extremely unreliable. I did just try it and it was still disfigured, but I'm guessing I need to delete my cache again. I'll try at home where the browser will be running the redone cache you just did. I'll give you a @@TAG :D

    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
    • and it ends up being already priced in as though you're just on 91RON without any ethanol. Car will lose a bit of economy as the short and long term fuel trims bring down the AFR back to stoich or whatever it is for cruise/idle for the engine.
    • Oh, you are right. But, in Australia E10 is based on 91RON fuel and ends up being 94RON. Hence it being the cheaper option for economy cars. The more performance oriented cars go for the 98RON fuel that has no ethanol mixed in. The only step up we have left then at some petrol stations is E85.
