hey everyone

Does anyone know why my car could be kicking back and like a loud noise coming from the exhaust it just started recently so ive changed all plugs the coil pack and done a full service thinking it could be the oil which I was told but made no sense as I only run motul 300v chrono it usually happens on boost but not all the time im currently have a profec b controller and a apexi afc neo( I know its not as good as a power fc)

I have larger injectors 600c upgraded afm z32 larger fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator it seems like the car is running really rich or could it be another issue that I haven't figured out.

If anyone knows the basics of tuning an afc neo please let me know as well as I cant get a booking for a tune till mid june.

Sorry if this Is a stupid question but does + on the afc mean your increasing fuel or the air intake thanks

I can't think how it could be the oil unless having none has caused a failure.

Definitely sounds tune related. The combination you have described plus AFC Neo = monkey purple dishwasher moon dog wonder special long time. ie = it does not make sense and will not work properly.

Do not drive the car until it gets a proper tune.

ok wont do thanks so I take it the neo isn't a good choice with all those mods will I see a difference with a power fc and where is the best place in perth to tune was thinking either hyperdrive or ovaboost anyone have reviews on either of these I use to get hyperdrive to do a lot of work on my silvia and they were pretty good

yeah didn't realise the safc were really restricted to what they can do will be upgrading to a power fc and give it a full tune which should solve the problem and give me the extra power that I seem to missing with it

    • I was just driving into work and while on my drive, I went to accelerate and noticed the car would sputter/hesitate and I’d hear a few pops from the exhaust before it started going faster. Then I also noticed that when I push my clutch in, the car would die. This all started happening today. Any ideas?
    • That is a lovely Volvo, just saying. Yes I should have got an 260RS when they were cheap. I do regret now.
    • ^ lots of good points made above. The thing is, "aggressive" or "flush" fitment is relative depending on how much you have been influenced by social media. My starting point is always "look at the Nismo RWD specs". That is where you should start, then start measuring as GTSBoy as sort of mentioned, because every car will be slightly different. My 8.5"+35/9.5+38 will not be "flush" enough for you because you want more "pumped" look, which is why you measure. Tyre sizes and brand/models also make a difference. Some tyres are more chunky/square, some are more rounded. That means you could get away with more aggressive offsets without rubbing. But then it also depends on your ride height. Also depends on how much your car copped damage before being shipped from Japan. So it goes back to measuring your car yourself and determining what can work. Those Nismo specs are used bacause it's a safe spec for standard car (suspension. body) with chunky tyres. But then I put 265/35 wide tyres on R34 GT-R wheels, and currently run 285/30 tyres on 18x10 wheels.
    • Sounds pretty awesome. I recommend creating a new build thread and posting all your goodness in there.
