phc251
Hey guys I own an r32 gtst and I'm having issues with the idle. When I start the car or pull up to a stop and put the clutch in, the car will idle at 2000rpm and after about 5 seconds the idle will drop to 1000rpm. When I'm driving the car and let off the accelerator the revs will sit at 2000rpm and the gears will stop decelerating the car. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Manuel Kasko
I have the same issue. People have suggest the following -Air leak so check all hoses/clamps etc. -TPS issue -Dirty AFM -Dirty AAC valve Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431344-idle-issues/#findComment-7003107 Share on other sites
Hanaldo
Anything from the idle control valve to an air leak to incorrect valve lash. Impossible to say based on the info you have given. Best to start with trying to adjust the ICV, then go from there. phc251
just had a quick play around this arvo. Noticed that if I disconnect my IACV, The car runs normally. Is it an issue to run without the IACV connected? If I clean it or replace it, will this fix the problem? Manuel Kasko
I found that solved my issue as well But the downside is that the idle drops a lot quicker so gear shifts are sloppy. Also when pulling up and clutching in you will notice the revs drop really low and possibly even stall before they become stable Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431344-idle-issues/#findComment-7006040 Share on other sites
phc251
Yeah i only noticed that if my A/C is on but i barely ever use it anyway. If my A/C isnt on then the car runs normally. Have you tried replacing your IACV? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431344-idle-issues/#findComment-7012459 Share on other sites
