2013 SauQld Annual Skyline Charity Cruise

Description:

It's that time of year again ladies and gentlemen, the Annual Skylines Australia QLD Charity Cruise!

This year we are helping out the Smith Family with a Teddy Bear run just before Christmas. The Smith Family conduct regular fundraising events to support children from families and will be there to show their support towards us. We are holding this near Xmas so that we can help those out in more unfortunate circumstances. The fact that they are receiving a toy will be a big plus in any child's eyes and can really make a difference. This is why we ask you to join us and demonstrate our strength as a community of Skyline owners.

We will be meeting at the Samford Bowls/ Tennis Club Car Park and cruising via a nice scenic route to Lakeside Park. This route will be released on the day and clearly marked pilot vehicles will lead you there. We will be holding several raffles and a Show 'n' Shine with all profits going to the Smith Family. The attached document outlines what can and can't be donated in line with The Smith Family's policies.

As this is a charity cruise we will be charging a fee of $20 and a brand new teddy bear/toy per car to donate. Toys other than teddy bears would be greatly appreciated. Year after year, they tend to find a shortage of toys for boys aged between 8-12 years of age.

Being a cruise, there is to be no speeding or unlawful behaviour. The club will be on public display and anyone caught breaking the rules will be asked to leave.

This is a great cause and year after year we are able to demonstrate our strength as a group and assist those less fortunate in a positive manner.

Come along for the ride and have a great day!

Location:

We will be meeting at the Samford Bowls/ Tennis Club Car Park and cruising to Lakeside Park. Details of the route will be provided on the day. We will have several cruise leaders with their cars identified and we ask that you follow these cars and don't overtake them.

Date:

Sunday, the 8th of December.

Time:

10 AM arrival at the meeting point for a 11 AM departure.

There will be prior sub-meets held in the South, West and East to allow people to travel in a group together. If you would like to assist in organising this, please contact myself or an Exec Member.

Cost:

$20 and a teddy bear or toy per car plus any fuel/food you use/eat.

Requirements:

This is one of the only events we run with vehicle requirements but as this is a Skyline charity cruise we do have several.

Your car must meet 2 of the following 3 requirements:

1. Be manufactured by Nissan/Infiniti/Datsun/Prince

2. Be sold as a Skyline

3. Be powered by an RB or VQ engine

Eg: A Nissan Silvia powered by an RB25 would be eligible as it meets two criteria

A Toyota Supra powered by a VQ35 would not be as it meets one criteria only

The only exemption to these requirements are the R35 GT-R, and the F31 Leopard.

There are Sprints on at Lakeside as well so it will be a great day out. Feel free to invite others who own cars that suit the criteria. Let everyone know that it's on. Get out there and spread the word!

Let's all join together and make this huge!

Look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you,

Tony

President

Alternative Meeting Points:

These are alternative meeting points from where you can meet with a few others and cruise on in to the main meeting spot at Samford. For those that aren't sure of how to get there or simply want to cruise with a few other cars, this would make your life a lot easier. Each spot will have two authorised marshals managing the group and ensuring that people don't get lost.

This list will be updated as the organisers provide me with more info incl time and location.

    • Yes I can see how that would put you off HFM, especially with the price of good quality brake fluid. From what I understand it as you say the BM50 is the standard BMC for a R32 GTR, I must admit I would like to go far a Genuine Nissan BM57, but lack of cash prevents that at present. With the price being so close between the genuine BM50 and BM57 a BM57 New it seems a better choice as you gain that 1/16 bore size with the BM57, I would be interested in how much difference you feel with the BM57 fitted. I am going to take SteveL's advice in the short term and see how much actually comes out of that proportioning valve vent and save up for the Genuine Nissan part. Thanks for clarifying the HFM failure
    • Thanks mate. I just got the post inspection 1/2 done from state roads when the starter motor packed up, either that or the car alarm system is having trouble.  OEM part number 23300-AA112.
    • Hi, I though I was coming to an end in finding a replacement starter motor for a rb25de neo. I came across a starter motor from Taarks and a message below stating: Direct fit. 11 Tooth count. All below part numbers have been superseded to 11 teeth. Can some body shed some light on going from 8 teeth to 11 teeth apart from 36-month / 25,000 km warranty for passenger vehicles to 12 Month Warranty. Compatible with the following Nissan part numbers: 23300-20P00 23300-20P01 23300-20P05 23300-20P10 23300-20P11 23300-AA111 23300-AA112 23300-AA300 23300-08U10 23300-08U11 23300-08U15
    • Low battery? Maybe check capacity? I know first-hand, on BMWs if your battery drops below 80% capacity, it starts causing strange issues.
    • 8.5 +37 = should fit rear, but I think it'll hit on front. What you want is low 30s/high 20's front, mid 30's rear. That 17" screenshot you posted looks good, I'd run it on my R32 (but that's long dead now). For tyre sizes, my rule of thumb is: 8': 235, 9": 255. But that's just my opinion. Nismo sizes: 18x8.5+35/18x9.5+38 is a good starting point.
