I figured that some of our more seasoned members might be interested in this and have something to say about its worth.

My mother in law is moving house and in the process it has been revealed she's been sitting on this potentially unique specimen.

It's her fathers car and apparently it was his baby, only driven on the the odd weekend as he was a bike fanatic and rode everywhere. So the K's were apparently quite low, which is not all that interesting, but it gets a little odd from there.

The story goes, that he was close friends with the GMH directors at the time, there was apparently 3 of them, and one of them had an eye on some old American tank he had at the time. So he told the GMH chap that he could have the car in exchange for a new Statesmen which was apparently a fair deal.

The car in question looks fairly normal, albeit in maybe better condition than I expected it to be, but there is absolutely no petrol fuel system on the car, it's purely gas.

Again, the story goes that this was one apparently only 3 prototype cars fitted with straight gas and was owned by one of the GMH directors.

Facts are lost in time so none of this could be accurate, but the pics show the car to be in fairly good condition and it's definitely a straight gas car.

The question then becomes, does that make it fall into the rare (interesting) catagory, or the rare (valuable) catagory.

I'm just about to finish building a shed and could possibly wrangle some storage space to either help her out if it's worth keeping hold of, store it myself if I bought it while it builds value, or she could just sell it off as she has nowhere to keep it after her move.

Thoughts/comments welcome :)

I've been told there are pics of it washed and clean and I can get more in a few weeks. It apparently needs a radiator and some seals done in the engine due to sitting for so long, I've told her to hold off replacing anything unless, she can genuine parts, while I do some fact finding.
