Happy Laps - Queensland Raceway 22-03-14

I more than likely will be coming (to this and the tuned performance dyno),

none of friends invited have committed as yet,

and hopefully the repair cost for the intermittent misfire on the silvia doesn't blow all my spending money.

Doesnt matter what you bring,as long as your there, just a great morning,i find these happylaps better than the ds ones, but thats just my opinion.

not long now, checked all my intake pipes and hoses, cleaned out the throttle body, and cam cover, took it for a quick squirt to make sure every thing was ok,now only have to wash, fuel up,and ill be ready to roll.Only way to keep reliable is by doing regular checks.ps,also did an oil change and filter, just because.

If you like actually going a decent pace around a track they are far better than the DS ones.

I did my first DS on the weekend, was good but to many cars, and also developed shuddering through steering when braking down from high speed. Any ideas I believe it could be rotors? Will hopefully get it in before Saturday's fun.

Is it really bad shuddering? I get some slight shuddering after my rotors heat up but as soon as I get on the road they are perfectly fine again.

List updated with cleared payments. If you haven't paid yet please DO NOT pay into our account now as it may not clear and be confirmed by saturday, just bring cash (preferably correct please) on the day.

I have a +1 coming now, and will pay cash on the day. L98 v8

Yeh only at high speed, and yeh seemed to be after about 45mins of driving plenty of heat.Driving back home at 100/110 seemed ok. Spoke to my mechanic tonight he reckons rotors more than likely, and i might get some new pads aswell.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
