Hi

I installed a Bosch 040 a while ago and whenever i go around corners the noise stops and then returns after im straight again. Is this normal or something to worry about. When i mounted it i made sure it was at the right height and all the conections were good. Any ideas??

Cheers

Well i mounted the mesh part of the 040 (The very bottom) at the same level as the pickup of the old pump. This meant i had to cut the bottom off the stock harness (S14a). Its a bit weird as the car still went well at the track, just a bit woried it might die on me.

Cheers

Yeah I have an 040 in an S14 aswell, and when the fuel is pretty low, it sorta cuts in and out when the road gets bouncy or takin a corner. But never had any hesitation in the motor. But anyways I shouldnt run the tank that low.

What I did was bend back the bottom circular plate so it was parallel to the bracket. Then I mounted the pump as low as it would go. Try doing that, as the stock pump has a sock which helps it suck up fuel right at the bottom.

My guess is the pump is touching something when driving straight. Where corners are involved, the G forces push the pump away from whatever it is that it is touching. Time to pull it out and tighten up trhe brackets and move it away from whatever it is that it is touching.

Hope that helps :)

I have no rear seats so the pump is quite loud (Harness makes it hard to have rear seats so i threw them).

It makes the normal noise in a straight line as i have heard a few before. Could it be that its to high and stuggling when the fuel is against the wall of the tank??? Im pretty sure i mounted it low enough though.

Cheers
