MozzMann
Looks to be running pretty rich , and in answer to the earlier question, run a decent duct up from the side of the Rad and drill holes all reound the Filter body helped a lot as did inverting the lid, this however depends on whether it was one of the big sumbitch oil bath aircleaner's . Rbdirty30
Yeah it's running pretty rich it's spitting fuel out the exhaust, I'm getting the reg tonight and playing with the fuel pressure, I've been told to run about 2-2.5 psi, apparently dellortos don't like a lot of fuel pressure. MozzMann
3-5 PSI was normal for the average red motor mechanical pump, Fuel pressure shouldn't be an issue as the float in the Carb should be regulating properly, I'd look at the possibility that the float needed seats are not sealing 100 % as this can manifest it'self in a number of ways or there might be interference in the Choke bypass circuit that is loading her up with fuel at idle. The audio above sounded pretty clean so it is likely a low speed circuit in the Carbs that needs tuning and balancing. Just had another listen to the Idle video and I concur the suspicion you have the low speed circuit loading it up and the timing at idle seems off too (based on the sound) Edited April 18, 2015 by MozzMann Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454524-holden-186/page/4/#findComment-7518211 Share on other sites

And in 1982 This is the livery the car still has now, I don't have a full pic of how it sits now but this is the pics I have of it [emoji106] 2 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454524-holden-186/page/4/#findComment-7631334 Share on other sites

Rbdirty30
I haven't pulled it out of the car yet, but I'm pretty sure it's because the sump has no baffles in it , saving up for a ASR sump, , also doing a cash job on a vk and getting an accumulator setup off a xu1 for my motor. Should help it for next time Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454524-holden-186/page/4/#findComment-7633100 Share on other sites

Rbdirty30
I picked up my sump today, I was told it was off a bianti series xu1 race car, I'm pretty happy with it. anyone know why it would have all the tiny Alan keys along the side of the sump?i don't no why they have heated these little spots for??? 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454524-holden-186/page/4/#findComment-7654132 Share on other sites
