Hi there folks.
My name is Cameron, and I have the good fortune  to live in Orange, NSW. Just up from Bathurst

I currently own (don't laugh) an 01 Land Rover Discovery 2 Td5, however I've aaaaalways had a thing for Skylines, R34s in particular, since I saw 2F2F at a 12th birthday over 10 years ago.
So given a bit of a change in my personal life, I've decided it's time to look into fulfilling my dream of owning one
I'll still be keeping the Land Rover, as I love off-roading and camping, but my career options at the moment are looking like I'll need something a bit more practical (and fast). Not knocking the Disco, it eats the KMs, but I want something a bit different :D
So I'm looking into an R34 manual GT-T coupe (why would you get anything else?) as a GT-R is sadly beyond my price range.
I'm not looking for a 400RWKW monster, but something with a nice amount of go with the stunning lines of the R34.
I'm reasonably handy on the spanners (have to be with a Rover) but the world of on road performance and petrol tuning is totally :huh::huh: to me at the moment, so I'll be reading up as many tech threads as I can about boost controllers and everything else you seem to stick in these cars to ensure I have as much knowledge going into the process of purchasing one, so any tips in that regard would be greatly appreciated
Cheers, looking forward to getting to know the place here.

Hey mate, welcome to the forums. My dad lives at Bathurst so I know the roads around you quite well, so my best advice is to get the suspension right haha. My 33 was horrendous up there especially after a bit of rain made the roads even worse, it was so stiff and it felt like I was riding along train tracks! Other than that I think a lot of the topics on here are covered. Start with a good base and do PLENTY of research on the car you start with. Start with a well looked after model with correct K's and you will not have a problem. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Look forward to seeing some updates

Cheers

Brennan

Should also say there's a cruise this Sunday up to katoomba to see F&F 7. I know it's probably a 2 hour drive for you but there's gunna be some awesome cars there and it's a great chance to meet some people who can really help you with any questions :)
