Different floor pan would be a start. Not the easiest of conversoins to do but definately doable. My advice sell the r33 gts-t and buy the real thing would roughly work out the same price minus the headaches, and the added value of having the real thing.

transfer case wont fit among other things

so you basically have to do a cut and shut on the front end like the way YLWGTR repaired his car.

big job might as well buy a GTR unless you get all the parts for free and do the work your self.

lol @ NZ forums, the place where bullshitters unite

RWD would be the easiest option modify the sump and your ready to go.

still tossing up what we are going to do with my car but the RWD is looking like most likely option.

Peter at Advan Performance has a thing called Gracer that started out as a GTST I think unless there was a GTS4 33, which I don't think there was. It has a worked to the sh*thouse RB26.

Hey mate, don't appreciate that.

We started the online skyline thing probably before most of you even knew what a Skyline looked like.

The internet is full of bullshitters, I don't see how NZ forums are any worse.. :bs!:

Coming from someone who drives a pink GTS.. i take it with a grain of salt..

buddy i have not got one peice of valuble information form SDU.

all i found out was that green nugget had over 100K spent on it which is complete and utter bullshit.

btw my car isnt pink its being painted candy apple wild cherry and i have built an RB26 which is going in within the month that is going to make some nice numbers.

its a full blown show car.

so sit back and enjoy the show bud.

now now children i am 27 years old and remember a red r32 skyline gtr ziping it's way around a track in oz by some fellas by the name of skafe and richards or was that another australia any way this isnt on the topic and i could go on this for hours

so the conclusion is rb26dett rwd in the gts-t would be the best or would it ??????????????

what about rb30 conversion or just to much stuff around

Well I have got a lot of useful information from SDU from the past 5 or so Years I have been there.

Don't know what you mean by green nugget?.. unless you mean the Green GTS-T which most definetly has had $100k spent on it. Which is very easy to do when building a show car... you will find out when you run out of money the first month in. :D

And without that site I doubt this one would have started or be as good as it now is.

And comparing the Bathhurst GTR's to one you may see on the street or own... a little different..

Anyway... sorry xr8eater.

Yes an RB26 in a R33 would be nice.. RB30 is good too. Depends what you want.

But as you first asked.. no not worth making a Rwd R33 GTS-25T into a 4WD GTR.. start with a 4WD chassis if your doing that.

I have done several quotes for people for doing this to a GTS4 and it simply is cheaper to sell the GTS4 and buy a GTR. As for doing it in a GTST, the floor pan changes would add a few thousand to the cost of doing the GTS4.

My suggestion, as always, sell the GTST and buy a GTR it is cheaper and you will have a real GTR, not a GTR copy. So you will get more for it when you sell it.

i have outlined how much that car wuold have cost to build on SDU. some of the figuers are simply bullshit. every person i have told about the prices he said laughed at him.

my car is nearly finished and its been in the build for well over 6 months money isnt going to run out because everything if basically paid for.

back on topic - if you really want an RB26 get the sump modified and run it RWD its not very difficult at all. or if you wantn to build a fresh engine build an RB30. the only limiting factor is money. work out your budget and build what you can while having some extra funds for those unexpected things that alway seem to go wrong.

thanks heaps guys i have looked at the rb30 conversion thread and have decided to put the rb26dett in simply because its to much stuff around finding and altering far to many parts wich leads me to these questions is the rb26dett a strait fit to the gear boxes in a gts-t what about the wireing to the speedo and revs from the rb26dett ecu and what about the engine mounts arnt they diffrent is there some adapters for this application.

lots of questions i know but im sure you guys can make me think of lots more with your replys

2GU UP 2, maybe the price for that car dosn't add up.. i agree. But maybe he got ripped off?

I know if I didn't do all my own work and get good deals.. my car would have cost me a hell of a lot. And it's not even show standard, or finished.

Xr8 eater. The Gearbox will bolt right up. Best to use a Rb25DET box however.

Speedo can be modded any way that is needed so thats not a problem.

Revs is fine. This is only a problem when changing engines with a different amount of cylinders. Eg, 4cyl to 6.. still not a big problem.

Engine mounts are the same.

XR8eater;

I agree with Sydneykid and GTR Ben said; respectively I'd suggest they are right on the money. And if you are up for it by all means tackle the RB35/26/30 conversion; however, make sure you understand what it will/won't give you. It all gets down to the usual question of 'what do you want to do with it'.

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
