Boost Controler ??

ok hi there im from melbourne and i was looking into buying this boost controller

im probarly gonna purchase it today i was wondering is this type of boost controller leagal in VIC or melb meaning i wont get done buy the epa...and aslo are they any good ?

most boost controllers are illegal. any boost above factory boost setting modifies your emitions and therefore violates epa regulations. the best is an electronic solenoid, that turbo smart one is a bleed value, meaning it will always bleed and have a max limit of X psi whatever you set. an electronic solenoid will bleed once it reaches X psi (whatever you set). also the electronic solenoid will handle different conditiions better. the bleed value will spike in different weather etc, like if its a very cool day and its set to 8psi it may spike to 11psi whereas the electronic solenoid should stay at 8psi. of course this depends on the actuator fitted to the turbo, im assuming stock turbo here

if you want to look at an electronic controller check out a hks evc 3 or 4 or 5

I used to have a turbo smart bleed like that one and it spiked really badly... I now have a ebc and it far better.

If ur gonna buy that turbo smart 2 stage spiker then atleast spray paint the controller which site in ur engine bay black or wrap it up in black tape and hide it some near other components as if a cop looks under ur bonnet the red and silver colour of em are easy to spot!
