Hey guys

my clutch on my r32 gts-t is on it's way out. Tonight started to slip in first at the top end.

So what I probably want to look at is getting a new clutch but I want something a bit more bitey than stock and not as bitey as a brass button.

So really i just want something better than the stock clutch. I dont want a clutch that would make my car imposible to drive.

So if you's guys have any thoughts what would suit me best it would be greatly apreciated.

Thanx Guys.

My mate got an organic centre which is pretty nice but not ridiculous - I stalled it first time I got in it but 2minutes later I was used to it and it drives great... When I get my next clutch I'll be getting the same.

He has a stock r32 and (over)paid $800 installed.

My mechanic has quoted me $800 for an organic twin plate clutch fitted with the flywheel machined. I have been trying to decide on a heavy duty or twin plate and i think the twin will be better in the long run. He quoted $550 for a heavy duty fitted.

If you want his details send me a pm

Steve

Hmm that's realy tempting there R33 steve.

I called the mechanic i usually go 2, I'm going 2 get him 2 have a look @ it 2morrow,

For a quote.

Is the twin plate going 2 be hard to drive with or still has enough give to drive round through traffic easily.

how much power is it making?

I emailed Exedy asking what they could offer me for an rb20det, had to hold at least 200rwkw etc. They suggested their sports organic kit, part number NSK-7056SO.

The max torque rating on this clutch at

7000 rpm is 393 ft/lb at the flywheel, max 524 hp or 391 kw also at the

flywheel.

Unless your trying to hold a whole lot of power, this kit might be worth a look.

goodluck

Ok.

Thanx Steve for the advice. I probably stick to the heavy duty clutch. Might get a daiken heavy duty clutch I think.

I might change it after the new year. As it seemed to drive alot better today.

Would not slip on me. I even droped the clutch and it slipped just a little. So in the new year new clutch.

Also gives me abit of time to get what i realy want. Which at the moment is becoming more clear.

Thanx guys for the input its been of great help.

    • All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.
    • roller coaster of a ride. Alarm system was removed & main harness was repaired where possible. still no fix just random successful starts. moved on to the replacing the ignition switch and relay. well all this troubleshooting & repair has been going on, the car is at a paint and body shop being pushed around. Ive been going down there on odd days after work to get it sorted.

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
