Thats Bullshit! Both times (last Thursday and Friday) I got pulled over I was doing nothing wrong. On Friday when I got DEFECTED I was doing 65km in a 70km zone. Cop was looking down radar and as soon as I drove past he droped the radar and chased me for what? Driving a GTR? I think so! even the ppl @ VicRoads today were sorry for me. Fair enough if I was doing stupid shit like speeding or what not.

Rang the cop station also and told of my story and to get some advice, even the copper said bad luck but what do you expect driving a skyline...? They are out to get you.

Then take it to the state ombudsman and lodge a formal complaint.

Did they bend you over and ream you for your T78??

T78:

This ain't my thread... but no.

I also spoke another TMU officer from another station yesterday and I was given alot of usful information. Most interesting was the steering wheel - no one I called could give me a 100% right answer. I was told to ring the Policy & Education / Study line (where the TMU cops learn) I should get a proper ruling. I'm quietly confident that my wheel should be OK since my car was not fitted standard with an airbag. I would take my aftermarket anyday over the standard R32 wheel (that is one ugly and not so safe wheel)

Today I'm geting info from EPA about FMIC/PODS.

Info from Police about steering wheel.

Booking my DB. test at Daalders

Best price tyres I have found so far (z-rated) Falken $260each Nakanag $200each Hankook $245

Linda: Get rid of the BOV & boost controller and KEEP THE CAR. anyone who is 18 and owns a skyline is BLOODY lucky if you ask me - I don't care how they got it!

P-platers / young drivers will always be targets, unfortunately statistics don't lie - younger drivers are more likely to do stupid things or make mistakes on the road. Plus the govt got to make money somehow.

Be rsponsible on the road and you really shouldn't cop much grief - if you do get pulled over its more than likely because of A. The Car and B. The P-Plate, remain calm, be polite and you may be surprised, some of the police out there are actually human :D

Don't let the system get you down, work with it!

My post from another thread, Im double dipping :)

I havent been hassled by the police for months but for the 1st half of last year I got 'randomly' pulled over once a month!

Most of them were cool to talk to - no defects, didnt ask to look under the bonnet except once cause he thought he heard a atmo bov noise [long story]. They only did RBT's and talked a bit about cars in general. I am not a P plater, I don't have a ricey lookin car, I don't drive like a dick on the roads and I am polite to police and only respond if I can say something that won't incriminate myself not that I have done anything wrong :)

    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
