Dude, listen to your engine not ur bov - it'll tell you when to change gears :(

BUt what's the use of the BOV then ????

i don't know its job ... thought you have to hear the phst then change gear?

is it better the other way ??? (without  phsssssting)

Okay im gona go down the strip tonight for the first time. Normally when i launch my car i ride my clutch and slowly roll forward then release. Will this give me a faulse start?? Should i have the handbrake up then release it doing this method or should i jst drop the clutch even though  i normally dnt do this way off launching my car.

Should i do a little burn out before i race to will this give me more traction? and should i jst drop the clutch.

Thirdly, what do i need to take helmet etc, and any other points i should consider???

Dude how did you go? What time did ya get? Im gonna head out to run my car when i get my licence back in APR. Untill then all i can do is stare at it and wash it every weekend to keep me sane........... :headspin:

hey benm i read in the other thread on your times...give the nitto's some more try's and then maybe start thinking of another hobby...

anyway, when referring to the stickiness of the strip and street tyres, i didnt think it would be of any benefit if you dropped the psi on them closer to 20psi rather than say the usual 36psi?? am i wrong?

also cant you just go around the water as i remember seeing some cars doing big turns trying to avoid something (which would have been the water), so your tyres are dry and have no need for a burnout as they are street tyres??

yeh.. what happens if you have 4wd like my gts4 does.. and i drive through the water.. i cant imagine my poor 2litre turbo doing massive four wheel spins to get rid of the water i would have just drove through :T

I'm just getting frustrated is all :(

Yeah I went around the water on my last run and even with some slight wheel spin I did my best 60ft of the nite :D

thanks for that benm, another words no need to go through the water for me. However, i am also curious as to how big a burnout you did on the nitto's, as i thought they require a good burnout to get hot enough? and what tyre pressure did you use with the nitto's?

also, do u guys take out the space saver and other little bits in the boot before you run? How much of a difference would 15 odd kg make?

Burnout doesn't exist in my vocabulary (serious). I dont ride the brake and I only do a burnout in first gear so basically no they wouldn't be sticky sticky but they are certainly better than my Michelin 225's so their is room for improvement it's just a matter of getting used to them.

I take out my space saver + jack + subwoofer which is probably 30kg in total. Some cars it helps (less weight) where as other cars it hirts (they need weight over the rear-end).

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
