Great day yesterday, It was good to see you guys again and meet some new skyline owners. Here is the link to the central coast cruise i was talking about:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=71512

hahaha anton, u legend....my car looks like its the head of the pack...hahaha. ill get around to uploading those pics when i get home from work...

monthly cruise idea definatly sounds good.

good to catch up with some normal people with common intrests, look forward to seeing you all again.

cheers

Linton

yeah I was thinking about coming along on the cruise. thing is I don't really go in much on cruises. I was gonna post up and ask how much social and how much is driving, i know it's sound stupid, but i'd prefer the social side of things... haha

How many of the skyline owners down at the foreshore are from here....I'd feel like an idiot just rocking up "you guys from SAU? no..umm....nice weather eh?"

Sorry, I am good when I know ppl, but heaps shy when I don't.

Anyone know who the other silver 4dr 32 owner is? or is he/she not part of these forums?

eXc....thats what i did...haha... just rocked up and said hey. some old dude with a young chicky babe rocked up aswell...looked at a few cars, hardly said a word, and then took off.

ive been on a few cruises over the years...not saying im an expert though, if you get there on or before the posted time, there is a good chance to socialise and its easier to meet ppl as they turn up, rather than you rocking up to a large group. before and after the cruise theres alot of conversations going on, also talking through windows at traffic lights and what not. its just a good day. bring a friend if you dont like driving on your own, or organise to jump in someone elses car..

we dont bite....and we all like skylines, no matter what they are... hell there was an atmo s13 silvia that rocked up and noone cared that it wasnt a skyline, he was a pretty cool guy.

just come along next cruise and hang out. if you dont wanna cruise, then you dont have to, just come up and say hey.

cheers

Linton

Yea the guy in the silvia was my mate.

I saw that silver 4 door as well.

Also eXc the day pretty much went like this for me.

Went for a drive and did a few laps, had lunch.

Went to the meeting point half a hour early and 1 other skyline was there.

Talked to him and over the next hour 12 or so others showed up... we all talked for another hour or so then decided to go for a little cruise to spears point.

Drove there and parked, people took some more pics and talked for another hour or so.

Theen it was getting dark and cold so we all parted. Was a mad day. Not 1 cop bothered us either!

Come on the next one to the central coast!

hey guys

tops day!

The sight and sound of so many performance cars running across the top of Charlestown was awesome!

Much better than our pathetic 3-4 car cruises we have once in a blue moon.

My pics are up in my gallery

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...00&ppuser=18179

Hope to do it again soon as it was great meeting you guys and just standing around talking for ages.

eXc i was in the same position not knowing anyone.

Meeting Dean randomly the day before helped me brush up on my interactive skills a bit before meeting all the other boys. Top bunch, i thought that there may have been one or two snobs in the group, but nopes, everyone was freindly and stuff! When i got home my girl said that she couldnt believe the smile on my face, it was seriously great fun, especially the drive through Charlestown next to that rex :P

Ohhh, the only bad part was when i missed the turn off to Warners Bay LOL!!!!

What do you guys think of those little UHF hand held radio's?

Or is that a bit too over the top? Cause i really could have used it when i missed the turn and didnt know where to go, cause i didnt have anyone mobile phone mubers either...

Here's a link to those UHF talkies...(Click here)

yeah we use two ways on our cruises.

Helps with directions, and if people get caught at lights, but once you start knowing everybody else a bit more it's actually a lot more fun to chat while your driving :P

Especially if your the only one in your car.

Only problem we've found so far with them is that they become virtually useless around the Sydney area because of the amount of others using the airwaves down there.

But those of us clever enough not too live in a capital city don't have to worry about that too much now do we :headspin:

UHF's are good, i have one in the car all the time, but usually no one has one or their batteries are flat. If you have one bring it along to the next cruise...definetly helps if you get lost or miss turn offs. hehe

So how many of the skyline drivers down at the foreshore are members on here? Is it most them?

Is the foreshore still as crowded as it used to be? Or has it calmed down? I know on Sunday it was calm as...but I was told there was some event there or something.

hi all, We go cruising to newcastle every weekend from the central coast and hang out at the foreshore with all my another mate (mostly all nissan) which looks good with all the another nissan up there because there are heaps of them. so far 2 of us are members with a skyline R32 4door and a R33 4door.

p.s. those UHF's are great we use them all the time its good fun.

Kmart is the best place to get them 4 handheld cb's 40 chanels for only $90 go to the cd and moblie phone section. injoy.

iva always thought those uhfs were a great idea, but thought it was lame to bring it up...nice to others are as lame as me

they'd save heaps of money on mobiles and make it easier to talk to others while driving.

or thr front runner could just have a megaphone set up like the cops haha, that would be mad.

just wondering if anyone else from this small nit group is at all keen on drifting?? as in track days and stuff like that.

ive just ordered some pinapples, spin turn knob and a hicas cancelling bar.

ill get those pics up soon...

cheers

Linton

Hey guys. Have to say the cruise was good fun. Never been on one before so its good to see such a nice bunch of cars in one place :kewl: Linton im hearing you on the drifting thing. Only thing is we probably have to go to eastern creek/oran park. Thats a bit of a drive. How much did the pinapples cost as im thinking of getting a set to. :D

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
