Please can anyone help? I own a 97 Skyline GTR that is running on 5 cylinders most of the time. I have taken the car to Nissan and they have replaced the plugs and number two cylinder coil pack, and the problem is still there. Nissan can’t find the problem and they can’t find anyone that will look at the car either. I think it has something to do with the electronics but not sure. It runs like crap nearly all the time now, but if I put it under a little boost while its cold it runs normal till it warms up then runs crap again. If anyone has any ideas on how to help it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

mate, sounds electricial - check the connectors for the coil packs to ensure there are no broken wires. with the car running, remove the plug into the coil pack of no.1, it is is worst, than no.1 is fine. repeat through to no.6. when you remove one that makes the motor run no worse - then that is the likely coil pack that is breaking down.

It may not actually be the coli pack, so check all the wiring closely. if it looks good, then put the good coil pack (the newie from Nissan) into that location and see if is still misses on that cyl.

if so, than is it the loom for that plug somewhere. if it fixes that cyl, then it is the coil pack.

let me know.

    • I used to do that, but then I got savvy. The benefits of having your phone photos geotagged outweigh the negatives. I just don't publish any photo straight off the phone/out of the gallery/off google photos, etc. If I'm going to use a photo, other than for SMSing to fam, I will always open it on the computer, copy it/otherwise edit it and save down without the original metadata, before using it. For example, posting photos of my engine bay into a thread on here, to show someone a plug or something - I will just screen-cap the section I want to use and paste that section direct from the clipboard into the post. No metadata goes along with.
    • Yes, so it won't work for places with no photos on the net. I would have said that there are no photos of the inside of my house on the net, but....then I realised that my kids' parties would have had bazzillions of photos of the living spaces, kitchen etc put on insta and other shitmedia. So... you can see how insidious it is.
    • Whomever is stalking me will need to deal with a few of these, so my safety is "assured"
    • It's not any meta data. They have scraped images from everywhere, and then use AI to compare your photo to other photos and work out where you are.
    • I just looked at my camera phone settings, apparently I have "not allowed" for location  Will that stop that app?
