Hey all

Just finished fitting my 040 in tank to my 33. I have a separate relay for the pump that draws power direct from the battery. The original fuel pump power supply is the trigger for the relay to switch on. The relay is earthed straight to the body work and power runs straight form the relay to the pump after the relay has been triggered.

When i first turn the ignition on the relay clicks on and the pump starts pumping. If i dont start the engine, the 040 will continue to pump for a few seconds and eventually the relay will click off, as the ignition cuts power to the relay after a time lapse if there is no engine start.

PROBLEM. The relay will switch off but the 040 still continues to pump, although it does so at a slower speed.

I have put a test light to the original fuel pump power supply, which is now my relay trigger, there is no power but the pump is still going. Somehow there is power going through the relay to the pump. I dont know why????

Im thinking it is a stuffed relay but i tried another relay and it did the same thing.

I used Navara standard four pin relays on both occasions????

However, if i drive the car for a while, come back and turn the engine off, the relay will click and the pump stops completely???? WTF???
