71LLA
I've just got an R33 GTR and have a couple of queries on some of the interior electrics which I think are not working correctly but I have nothing to compare them to. The climate control resets every time the ignition is turned off, ie I have to turn the unit on and set the temperature every time I drive the car. Is this how it should operate or should it retain the settings from the previous use? The electric antenna does not go up. It has a Clarion CD player fitted and the antenna does not go up when the radio is switched on or by using the button on the dash. How should the antenna operate? Finally my clock resets too 1.00 every time the ignition is turned off/on. It is also very dim all the time whether the lights are on or not. Wiring, I guess? Pva_Glue
hhmm not sounds good at all... it looks like your ECU is resets every time you turn off ignition... which is not good! when you rest ECU clock aircon and radio gets reset... I'll contact auto electriction ASAP! cheers Joe Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/7354-climate-control-clock-and-antenna-electrics/#findComment-108183 Share on other sites
71LLA
Clock and CC fixed with fuse replacement, antenna still not working. Also the electric mirrors aren't working - adjustment or folding. Anyone got any ideas which fuse they run off? dAVE
I have a clarion in my surf and it took ages to get it working with the electric antenna. I would say that its most likely never connected when the head unit was installed... but it could be related to the electric motor on the antenna. 71LLA
Can you remember how you did it? Is there a certain wire I should pick up out of the head unit? SupaFly Skyline
there should be a wire coming out of the head unit marked ANT POWER or something and that should fix your problem Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/7354-climate-control-clock-and-antenna-electrics/#findComment-108871 Share on other sites
hitnrun
The wire may also be marked "REMOTE" from the deck (same as remote for amps etc) Most decks use a light blue wire for the remote wire. You could try tracing the wire back, it may be pinched/cut/corroded. Also as dAVE said - could the antenne motor. I would definitely check the wiring first, as your other problems were fixed with fuses, so something may have shorted out at some stage. The Tool
Originally posted by dAVE ... but it could be related to the electric motor on the antenna. Could also just be the mast of the antenna - when you first switch the deck on, have a listen to see if you can hear the motor going or not - if you can, then i'd say the mast has been threaded (they are plastic). Might want to also try getting a multimeter to see if there is current getting to the antenna to begin with...
