It's simple, i dont have photos but basically you have to:

Take off A Pillars (they are just held by clips), not sure if you have to take the panels off that are around the seat belt thing i think you might, in which case they are also held on by clips which just pull off. You have to take the plastic handles that are build into the panels off to get them off also (The panel that goes from the parcel shelf to the side windows). To take the seat belt dispenser thing off just flip the plastic cover up, get a socket setr and undo it and let it hang.

Once you have gotten all the panels off around it, you have to unscrew the sun visor things, there is 2 screws in both plastic mounts under little covers that you have to take off.

Then take your centre interior light out, just get a screw driver and take the plastic cover off, there will be screws inside, undo them, let it down gently and unplug the wiring in the back of it.

Then you have to take the rear view mirror off, once again there is 3 scres undernearth a plastic cover that you have to pry open with a screwdriver.

Last i think, if i havnt forgotten anything, you have to take the high mounted brake light off the top of the rear windscreen which if i remember correctly has a few screws holding it on to.

After that, there is 2 plastic latch kinda things of the left and the right side in the middle of the lining, just direct these around the things they latch onto when you are pulling it down and the whole thing will fall down in one piece and your done.

Dunno how much sense that all made but thats how i did it as i remember lol :( hope it helps.

  • 5 years later...

I know, I know, ancient thread revival, but I didn't see the point in starting a new one :(

I've got pretty much everything off as described, the whole lining seems to 'slide' about 3cm rearwards, but it's still holding on by something at the rear window...

Any suggestions?

Never mind ^^^^^, worked it out :(

For anyone in the future, there's three little clips on the back edge, you need to slide your hand in from the front (i.e. lower the front end down and slide your hand in) and tap the whole thing now, then it all just slides out

    • Hopefully it ends up being something manageable, like a hone, rather than a full bore—it would be a huge relief if it’s not as bad as it looks. Hang in there; these setbacks are annoying, but it sounds like you’re handling it as smartly as possible.

    • Thanks MBS206, i got that PDF but got abit overhelm with all the connections and tracing of wires. I wasn't expecting to plug the dash harness anywhere. i was just going to use my electronics jumper wires to plug into the right pins like ECU power, ecu ground, ignition trigger etc... I do have a few ratchet straps locking it down tight. Fire extinguisher ready and only a small amount of fuel at a time, enough to submerge the pump.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, i will do abit more digging. I am missing a blue relay near the ECU connector... so i will chase that up in the next few days as well
    • https://yariksteel.ru/manual/R33/Skyline_R33_elektroprovodka.pdf   Page 18 should be what you want for the Dash Cluster wiring. Though, you don't need the dash plugged in to get the motor running. What you want is power as how GTSBoy said. You need to power the ECU. Find in the above link the ECU pin outs (Verify them before just connecting them up from things written on the internet). Find anything needing power, give it power, find anything needing ground, give it ground. Then give the starter motor power through a big cable, and bridge the solenoid on the starter straight to power too.  ECU will be on, and when you give the starter power, it'll spin the starter motor, and it should start. I also hope you have a proper stand, and not just the engine sitting on some wood. You will want it bolted down properly.
