Hey guys

i got a blue slip for my car now, and all i need to do is go for a identity check on the booking sheet it says for 'raws" vechiles which my car is, it was imported last year and registered in queensland for 6 months now im trying to register it in nsw anywayz... it goes for raws vechile on the booking sheet a vechile inspection certificate is needed the guy i bought my car of didnt give me that and is gone now, i rang up dotars and they should they dont give them out anymore and they can just check it on the net like its all done electronically, so i was just wondering if this would be sufficient? or are they real d*cks there

aswell i still got my air filter with air flow meter still in there, ive taken of the BOV and changed exhaust all that to get my blue slip, but would they defect me at the pits if they see my air filter or reject my inspection?

just wondering how they are there cheers :)

are you going to just have the car checked to see if its numbers are correct and match etc? vin and engine, chassis etc??

if so they wont defect you there, i know someone that works for the rta on a car reburthing unit. he checks the numbers to see if there stolen etc, and for signs of reburthing(spelling).

He tells storys of things like a mirage with a evo engine that are un engineered etc, but all they care about is that its not stolen..

so if your having it checked out like i think you are you should be right.

I passed a trip to the pits and a blue slip with pod filters on the GTR...

problem was, the guys at the pits kept asking me where my green plate was, i told them it was a 15yr import and showed them the import approval sheet (with vin# on it) and the engineers cert and they still sent me for a blue slip because they "didn't have time to look over my entire engineers certificate"

the reality was they had no idea what they where doing at all. This is also evident because they missed the fact that my mate had a completely different engine to what the car came with, no engineers cert or change on the rego etc and they didn't even notice. MORONS!!!

im pretty sure its only to check if the numbers are correct because on the blue slip paper it has a stamp that says "subject for rta identity check" so im guessing its only numbers, i rang up the rta technical enquires and the guy knew nothing at all

im hoping i should be sweet cause i dont have an engineers certificate cause i didnt need it as it was registered as a raws vechile, but as i said before i dont have the vechile inspection certificate but it can be checked on the net anyway on the dotars website, hopefully there not bas*tards about it

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
