shonen
Hi all Just curious to know if the TCS (Traction Control System) on the R34s are linked to anything important that will affect performance or driveability ? Reason for asking is im considering getting a new forward feed plenum chamber but this will get rid of the TCS. So just like to know if it will affect anything other than losing the ability to switch TCS on/off ??? IanH
With a new plenum you'll lose the TCS permanently. The TCS only operates an extra throttle body infront of the main one. This is so that it can close the throttle (and stop wheelspin) even if you've got your foot flat to the floor. I don't know wether the ECU will pick-up the lack of this 2nd throttle body but my guess is that it won't! It will detect wheelspin still and flash the SLIP light but nothing will happen. However, I always turn mine off anyway. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77489-tcs/#findComment-1416883 Share on other sites
shonen
haha yes mine is almost always off as well. Comes in handy in the wet though So the removal of TCS wont affect and ECU functions?? Ie it wont go into limp home mode or start acting funny cause it cant sense that second throttle body ? Thanks Ian, may have told you this before, but I showed my mate your website and he loved your front bar and how you trimmed the top part of it to expose more of the cooler. He has pretty much gone and done the same thing. Ill send you some pics of it when its finished if you want Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77489-tcs/#findComment-1416886 Share on other sites
Abo Bob
The slip light will be permanently on. Unplug the TCS now and see what I mean. Maybe there is a way to turn it off though. Perhaps shorting the TCS plug. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77489-tcs/#findComment-1417466 Share on other sites
