shoey_R33
my r33 stalled when stopped at the lights today, and failed to start back up again. it would crank, but theres no ignition. my safc and avcr are showing blank screen indicating theres no power to the ecu at all got an nrma roadside, he checked some points with the multimeter, and said theres no injector pulse either so the conclusion is either, blown fuse? dead ecu? or immobiliser cutting the circut either way, i gotta tow it to the auto electrician tomorrow its like 300 bucks down the drain either way. but if its a dead ecu then i could save myself the trouble and just plug another one in... shoey_R33
i started her this morning! logged on to SAU, found a fuse diagram for the line pulled out 10A engine control, blown as i expected swapped it with an interior lamp fuse, turnkey, blown fuse again open kick panel, found one ecu wire melted and stuck on to body pulled out wire and insulated it, replaced fuse, started a lucky win. shoey_R33
thanks yeah, lucky question is, since the ecu basically had a 'reset', would it change the air / fuel ratios, timing etc so my original safc settings might need some tuning adjustment again? Sumo
Mate your lucky that it didn't blow up the ECU or damage it. Melted wire usually indicates it has been overloaded, I would get a wiring diagram and just see what it controls, as a dead short should blow the fuse straight up and not go to the extent of melting the wire. You haven't being tapping into power for anything? Cheers Sumo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/83395-power-to-ecu-gone/#findComment-1511065 Share on other sites
