got SO close.. i was at work, thankfully 1 minute around the corner, so when it started looking pretty bad, flew home pretty much sideways and straight into the garage.

Just after that it got pretty bad. The people who I work for's car got about 3 dents in the roof, etc - so that could have been mine.

Avoided it fortunatley, was working in pindara at the time (pindara private hospital). I think thats near benowa (even if thats a suburb or whatever? )

One of the guys that works in the lab got hammered in his new lantra, not a clean panel on it. Also saw a brand new camry covered in damage, and a smashed rear window. Another guys missus' car (toyota cressida) got totalled..

When everyone started talking about hail i was shitting myself....

anyone get any car/house damage from that nasty hail storm in hte gold coast last night?

Warren.

was working up at helensvale that day and my gtr got slammed with it. couldnt move it either as there was no where under cover. :(;)

Will just say the aluminium bonnet has dents in it at least 1 inch deep and probably 4-5 inchs in diameter. even the drivers guard has dents. roof has probably ten hits and the boot bugger all.

just glad my insurance covers hail damage even thou the excess is $1500. :(:(

I was gonna get a "I hate those Melbourne players.." sticker for my GTR, maybe I should do a group buy...

I feel your pain mate, my R still looks like a golfball after the storm before this one.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
