Hi All

Well, after spending the last 2 weeks trying to find tyres, and every time i find a tyre i like being told "there are none in Australia in your size" (205/55/16, to go on standard rims) (This has happened with both the Hankook K104's and Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3), i have been recommended the Goodyear Revspec RS-02 (The place that recommended them actually suggested i get the Eagle F1, but then found out that there were none in Aus)

I see these tyres recently places First overall in the Wheels (Or Motor?) Tyre test for 2005?

Does anyone have a copy of the article that i could see?

The shop has ordered me 4 of these in, and at around $230ish a tyre, i didn't think it was overly bad (though i would have preferred to pay the $190/tyre for the Eagle F1's)

Does anyone have any experience with these tyres?

No, but had experience with Gy Eagle GSD 3 f1's, I had 205/55/16's on my R32 GTS 4. Some people raved about them - overseas, but I didn't think they were anything too special, good in wet but awd makes most tyres look good. Not great in 205 size for a 1450kg plus car, too soft and squirmy under really hard driving(trackwork) - prob a much better tyre in 225 or 235 size for a car weighing as much as a skyline does.

So just a review reinforcing your decision to buy another tyre..

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
