just after inforamtion on the rb25de..

would like to get some information on the 33 gts? I will be upgrading from a xf fairmont..

What is the rb25de like on fuel? would the fuel be anywhere near a vx Commo s pack would it be anything near what that uses. newest 6 i have drivin and no what the consumption is..

did a little search and came up with

How many k's to a tank? is around 450km about right?

What are parts going to be like for the car. still dont know this one

Being a non turbo what will insurance be like do they still ask for a bucket load for a non turbo. not sure on this one

Performance wise how would it go compared to the Vx s pack?.

What would the avg 0 - 100 1/4 time be? i found around the 8 second mark? and a low to mid 15 1/4?

any other genral info would be much apreciated

Also am after a non turbo just i can get into the turbo scene and not payout my arse hole with insruance.

I picked my r33 GTS up last week and it's bloody nice :O

( I haven't driven a turbo'd car before with 15psi or what ever it is that people classify as fast) but, it still goes very nicely..

Fuelwise, I'd say it's pretty good.. but the fuel tank is kinda small so that might make you think you're blowing quite a bit of fuel..

I was never a fan of 33's.. but seeing them in person and having a good long look at them I learned to like them a bit more.. :)

I recon parts would be pretty easy.. i needed new shocks just went down to the local mechanic and he hooked me up.

Don't know any facts and figures though about 1/4's

About 450kms per tank is correct depending on mods and how you drive obviously.

I haven't taken mine on the 1/4 mile or dyno so I'm not sure but stock should be around 90-100 rwkw (142kw at flywheel). The info that you posted about 1/4 mile and 0-100 times are pretty much correct though.

I'm paying $1380 on insurance for a '94 GST Coupe, I'm 20 and have a clean record, the only mods I listed were $2500 rims.

You shouldnt have too much trouble with parts as 33's are very common imports now.

For insurance if you have a misss and a house you will get a discount if you use the same company but if you are under 27 some wont insure you

no turbo will be alot better tho

50 litre tank and you sould get if serviced and looked after you might get it to 10l per 100kw

Get an exhaust and extractors and they sound pritty nice

james

18 at the moment.. turn 19 in march

hope to have a new car sometime from now to then

Not sure though ... i want somthing with some guts but not to keen on a turbo as insurance is heaps. I guess i should take a test drive...

  • 2 weeks later...

I've got a bog stock GTS25 ('93 model) with O2 panel filter, fuel economy out on the highway gets me around 10k per litre (550 - 600 safely on full tank), around town 6ish (300 - 350 safely). BTW you should have a 65 litre tank, not 50 as mentioned earlier.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
