I have got a 1995 r33 gtr aiming for 330kw@aw with r34 n1 turbo's. I am in process of getting engine rebuilt. I have got forged pistons, N1 bearings, upgraded oil pump, head work, new crank, new timing belt, blue print build and metal head gasket. While engine is being built do I need to upgrade anything else for strength of engine not for more power. I don't want to spend much more but would be stupid if I need something else to make engine safer and stronger and didn't do it now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have the basics covered really.

Only other things i can think of is, most big power GTR have modified cooling and oiling systems.

Not to sure if the average person will know whats involved or wether its more top secret with what different people do with the above systems to prevent issues.

What sort of sump and oil coolers is it running, standard?

Might be worth considering if its more then a dyno queen :D

The weak point in GTR's is the size of the sump. If you ever have the motor out of a GTR the first thing that you do is a conversion that increases the sump oil capacity by one litre and also replace the oil pick up.

This stops the oil starvation problem that occurs when you are using the car's ability and cornering hard. Advan Performance Centre in Silverwater stock the parts required and do this conversion as a normal part of an engine upgrade.

Thanks for reponses have aftermarket intercooler not exactly sure what type but definetly not standard. I have added cold air intake to pod filters. Oil cooler and sump standard told only to upgrade oil cooler if racing car on track. Don't know much about oil sump, only change if necessity and not too costly.

How much is adding larger oil sump? Is it necessary for daily driving as am not planning on racing car just wanted better performance day to day in all conditions.

Thanks guys for responses. I have an upgraded intercooler sorry don't know what type exactly. Have pod filters with cold air intake. Hopefully this covers any cooling problems. Only have standard oil cooler and oil sump as car for everyday driving not racing. Probably sounds stupid when having a gtr with upgraded brakes, suspenion, 19x10 mags (all came with car) and rebuilt engine looking at 330kw plus @aw.

Would change oil cooler if I decide to race car. I don't know about oil sump.

Do I need to upgrade for daily driving and what cost am I looking at?

Thanks again.

I'm an idiot posting twice. Merry Christmas everyone.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
