  1. I got my exhaust and complete turbo back fitted at: auto safe-t-check Located at: 47 McLachlan St, Fortitude Valley (07) 3252 9339 Mark, the owner, is an import performance specialist. He compliances as well. If you work in town, he's happy to give you a lift into work. Nice guy - good work.
  2. Not getting ripped off. The quotes I mentioned are part of a 10k service that will be done at the same time.
  3. Perfect condition, unused, direct from Japan. For those who wish to keep their R33 ECU in the boot... $50 + shipping to anywhere.
  4. I haven't got a quote just yet, I wanted to make sure that they handled a normal service first, which they confirmed after I called them. They say it's going to take around six hours all up - this includes the service, apexi pfc install, and dyno tune. Therefore I'm looking at around: $300+ for labour $240+ for dyno time plus whatever for bits and pieces (oil, plugs, filters etc). The prices above are a little generous, but I have to anticipate the worst. Yes, I have heard both good and bad about the place - but the good far outweighs the bad, so this is good enough for me. They are on my way to work too, so this works in their favour. I will be supplying the complete apexi pfc + hc manual in engrish for them in print form, at least that way they have that baseline to work from. From what I can tell, they are very competant with what they do. Anyway, after all the searches I've down in this forum, there is no clear winner when it comes to a dyno tune in Brisbane All I read was a few comments about 3-4 places, a couple of which I have never heard of, and everyone had a negative remark or was unconfirmed. So, I'm just going to go with my instincts, hope it turns out good
  5. I'm getting my R33 with new Apexi PFC + HC tuned by Brisbane Tuning & Turbo Centre next week. Will let you know how it goes. They have been recommended by a few here already, so that is pretty good for me. I will be getting it serviced as well - hope to get a dyno readout on the effect too.
  6. Hello, It has been a little too long since my last serious service (around 10k) and I have now booked my Skyline with a reputable turbo shop for a Apexi PFC install + servicing. I asked whether or not he did the usual, spark plug check / replacement, so it looks like they handle the usual mundane stuff well. Things to look at during this type of service that I can think of: Oil and filter change Spark plug check (best gap?) General fluids check Any other areas that I should get him to look at? Front bushes I hear are a common problem on R33.
  7. Tony, Can you tell us why you think the PFC boost controller is not a good option? I was thinking of adding one to my PFC + HC.
  8. http://www.japanesemotorsport.com.au/ I got mine through the above guys in Adelaide. They shipped it directly to my mechanic after using my Credit Card to pay for my 2nd hand Apexi N1 spec cat back. Reasonable prices and shipping too.
  9. WRX owners have feelings too! Hehe, funny story. On a related topic, I also enjoy blocking in crazy fast drivers (or ricers) when I get the opportunity. I don't know what it is, but I get immense satisfaction watching them try and get around the block, it makes my day. Of course, being a safe and responsible citizen, this never happens to me.
  10. http://www.parts.msiracing.com.au/ I've noticed they had the GTR mats...
  11. Yes, the attached picture is one that is up for sale. All I've heard is that the stock returnpipe fits with this IC, but this is unconfirmed. Anyone have some info with this unit?
  12. Has anyone had any experience with the Apexi GT Hybrid intercooler on a R33 (or any vehicle)? What did you like or dislike about it? It is supposed to plug directly into the stock IC piping, is this correct? Any idea what type of rwkw it supports? It looks kind of small, but I'm not after anything over 220rwkw, will this unit be sufficient? Attached is a picture of one I'm looking to get. Any info is appreciated!
  13. I'm in Brisbane and over 30 with rating one. I use Suncorp and I'm charged $1000 a year for R33 gtst. I've tried a couple of brokers but without successfuly beating that price, they even say they cannot beat Suncorp premiums! There has got to be places where I can almost halve this premium. Anyone?

  15. Last I heard the original guy was offered $12 million US for the name from Nissan motors, now he gets not much at all - and not even the name to use. Stubborn...
  16. Good work Slip. It would be cool to get purchasing power at other distributers at well. Online shops like takakaira and perfectrun would be very cool. Otherwise Australian distributers for Jap mods would suffice. Great idea anyway, good job! Oh yeah, count me in
  17. a R33 gtst with a complete exhaust upgrade (dump, hi-flow cat, 3.5" cat-back) but standard air filter and cold box? Should I get a cold air partition while I'm at it? Thanks!
