  1. the car cranks over and fires but wont keep running
  2. hey guys, ive been trying to get my car started for the past 2 days and still no go. first i thought it was the battery because it was dead and after i had charged it, it wouldnt take any load. i then changed the battery and still the same prob. anyone ever had a problem like this before. to me it seems like its electrical because its firing but kinda sounds like something is cutting it off as it starts. Thanks, Mike.
  3. Pretty sure they all have the sticker on the cam cover. I thought it said that the timing belt should be changed at 100,000
  4. Skyline model = 1996 R33 GTST Wheel Brand = Volk TE37 Wheel diameter = 17" Wheel width = 9" Wheel offset = +22 Tyre size = 235/45/17 Modifications to fit = None (front wheels lightly nudge front bar at full lock, otherwise fine)
  5. the car has got spark so that shouldnt be an issue, ive checked all fuses, AFM, ECU, Fuel pressure, Spark etc. Ive have now narrowed it down to an injector issue. The injectors are recieving power when the ignition is on, but the are not opening up when cranking. BTW im in the northern suburbs. Thanks, Mike.
  6. Hey guys, i have converted my r33 all back to standard and now it wont start. I changed the ECU, turbo, injectors and AFM. Now all it does is cranks over but doesnt fire. The injectors have power going to them but when i crank it, i used a screw driver to listen to the injectors and it doesnt sound like they are opening. So i was wondering if someone would be generous enough to help me out by lending me a set of standard injectors for a couple of days just to test them so i can get my car running. Thanks, Mike.
  7. hey guys just wondering if anyone has a set of standard injectors that they would be willing to lend me so i could see if it actually is the injectors at fault? Also if they work, if id be able to lend them till wednesday so i can take my car to the EPA and get tested. Thanks, Mike.
  8. hey guys im thinking the injectors that i put in are not opening up because when i pulled the spark plug out it was dry. If they were letting fuel in and the car wasnt starting the plug should be full of fuel right? anyone got any ideas why they might not be opening up besides fuel pressure? EDIT: I just checked the injectors with a testlight and they have power when the ignition is on, but when i crank it i used a screwdriver to listen whether they were opening and i couldnt hear anything so im pretty sure they arent opening.
  9. what happens if the o2 sensor is stuffed? will it still start if it is? also tried plugging the power fc back in tonight and still no go
  10. Thanks for the replies, will try a jumpstart tonight. Does anyone know if an rb25 should start with the AFM disconnected? or what does happen exactly? Thanks, Mike
  11. i checked it out today a bit more and the car has fuel and spark but still wont start. does anyone know if it could be the battery because i get it fully charged and after about 4 cranks its flat again. Thanks, Mike.
  12. hey guys just replaced my turbo, injectors, ECU and AFM all with standard items as i had aftermarket parts on there and required it to be standard again. When i went to start it the battery was flat. So i put the battery on charge and went to go and start it and it still wont start. The car cranks over but doesnt fire. The battery also seems to lose charge fairly quickly, but i dont think that is my prob as it is cranking over. My fuel pump also primes a lot longer than usual. Ive also checked most of the fuses. Anyone have any ideas? Its kinda urgent as i need to go to the EPA tomorrow. Thanks, Mike.
  13. naa its not only when i drop the clutch it can happen as it starts to spin after takeoff. I think i might invest in some pineapple's. My 60' times were like 2.1. I was getting the same 60' when the car was standard cause i cant seem to get a good takeoff. I got 13 runs on the night so i was trying everything i could to reduce axle tramp but nothing was working. what is 113mph good for?
  14. hey Robo, just wondering what turbo your running and have you done anything to the suspension at all? My PB is a 12.9 and i couldnt get any faster due to heaps of axle tramp. any ideas to decrease axle tramp? Thanks, Mike
  15. is it possible to just go up sunday and do the skidpan and a bit of track work? Thanks, Mike
  16. hey mate, i have one of these in my car and it is just slightly heavier than the standard one but clamps down way harder. Did you lose your fluid when u changed the clutch or did u just disconnect the slave cylinder from the box. If you left the slave in place and disconnected the fluid line, you may not have bled it properly or you may have a stuffed master or slave cylinder that wont bleed up properly. Mike.
  17. hey guys, i spoke to my tuner today and he said all that i have to do is splice into the earth for the fuel pump and put it to a direct earth and it will up the voltage. Will this actually work? Thanks, Mike.
  18. Thanks for the reply. I asked my tuner today and he said they dont do anything. Thanks, Mike
  19. Hey guys i pulled my injectors out tonight and i noticed that a couple of the claws on the injectors were broken. 3 had broken claws and 3 were perfect. Do these claws affect the way the injector works at all? (Spray pattern etc?) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike. Got a couple of pics, sorry bout the shitty quality.
  20. hey mate, the DIY thread doesnt answer the question i am asking. Have already checked. Thanks, Mike
  21. hey guys, im just in the process of installing a bosch 040 fuel pump and i have run into a problem. Im trying to get the pump cradle back into place and i cant get the cradle right down into the slots. In goes in about 1 inch and stops. Ive checked my hose clamps and they are not touching anything. Once i get it in as far as i can it is very stiff and hard to move so it cant come out. Do you think it would be ok if i left it like this? I have under a quarter of a tank and the pump is completely submerged in fuel. Thanks, Mike. Also here is a pic incase people didnt know what i was on about.
  22. i think it may be the hose clamps. When looking a the pump from the top of the tank, where are your hose clamps facing. Up, down, left or right. Thanks for your help, Mike.
  23. hey mate, sorry dont have a pic of the pump on the cradle but it is an 040 and i have located it as low as possible. I cant see anything that is actually stopping the pump from going down further into the slots. ATM my fuel gauge is reading below a quarter and when i put the pump in as far as i can it is fully submerged in fuel.
