  1. UPDATE: Success today with me and Matt having a go at pumping the rear guards to fit the massive wheels and tyres. We used a porta-power (pneumatic ram), grinder, hammers and 2 heat guns. Overall we pumped them approximately 35mm extra over what was already flared a few years ago. So overall it's about 50mm wider than GTSt guard We had to cut the inner guard and reinforcing to allow it to stretch out. Considering what we did the guard has come away ok. It kinked in a few spots above the arch but really it's better than we expected. The paint didn't even crack! We kept it really hot throughout with the head guns. There is plenty of room under there now and with dynamic camber it should never hit. This is now it started This is what it got to! Overall it took about 3 hours. Next is doing the other quarter...
  2. Lots of slow commodores at ffcc days. Generally well run though.
  3. That's the way man. Drive the thing to it's potential then upgrade. Best way to go
  4. Dunno about less weight Troy. But more power and tyre for sure BTW are you coming to SL this year? I need your advise again
  5. ACE Workshop + Dyno is Matt (Chewy) Femino's dad's business. They specialise in carby refurbishment and tuning. They also have all the equipment for EFI cars and they Tune PowerFC's and a few other type of ECU's. ACE WORKSHOP ACE Workshop + Dyno is Matt Femino's dad's business. They specialise in carby refurbishment and tuning. They also have all the equipment for EFI cars and they Tune PowerFC's and a few other type of ECU's. ACE WORKSHOP link I just call it 'team' ace workshop coz there are a few of us that hit the track from time to time and all the cars are built there. Yeah the way my old car was setup was almost faultless. I saved a hell of a lot of money by buying a car that was already modified instead of doing it all my self back in the day.
  6. I didn't. That's why they look so good Mick from MP SMASH in clayton next door to ACE WORKSHOP did them for me.
  7. Thanks for the advise. I'll check it thoroughly for sure! You might even find it harder to catch me now
  8. I couldn't find a T3 6boost manifold at the time but I could get a T4 for a good price.
  9. Yeah it's ATP. Looks good except for a few machining blemishes but nothing to be concerned with I hope.
  10. Yeah get the porta power onto them. If it all turns bad then I'll buy GTR guards but trying not to if I can help it. If anyone knows of a fibreglass bolt on that's wider than GTR and not a 'widebody' as such please let me know...
  11. Hey mate. Nah I'm going to RB25. Brakes were fine with the power I had. Just had to make sure I had plenty of pad and bled the brakes every track day. It's was probably the most you'd wanna push them though... The wing is definitely noticable on tracks like Eastern Creek and Philip Island. Don't think it does much at Winton or Sandown. Maybe turn 6 at Sandown...
  12. Eastern Creek Superlap 2010
  13. Here are some video's of the car as it was... Winton
  14. Here are some pics taken over the last few months...
  15. So this is where the build begins... I started parts collecting over 2010 and Jan 2011 we started the work. Parts list so far: G4 356mm brakes TE37 Superlaps 18x10.5 +15. Yes that's right 10.5in on a 32 GTSt!!! Standard S1 RB25 6 boost T4 manifold Garrett GTX3076r with twin scroll 1.06 rear housing HKS 38mm wastegate Full 3.5in exhaust custom made by Mat Jun copy plenum OS Giken triple plate clutch Surge tank with Bosch 044 pump Top feed injectors (900cc or something cc so I can go E85 later) 52mm ebay radiator PowerFC Defi gauges GTR BOV GTR front guards flared GTR front bar. My good mate Matthew Femino (Chewy) from ACE WORKSHOP + DYNO is the guy that is making it all happen. I've been doing as much of this as I can while he does the hard stuff. He really is a master when it comes to fabrication and making it all come together. This car will basically all be done in house with only small amounts of work being done elsewhere. This includes a "CHEWY TUNE" on the ACE WORKSHOP Dyno. We're expecting to be able to pull about 330rwkw's with the setup but most likely be going for a 'safe' 280-300rwkw's for lots of track time. Paint will be done James at Patti panels in Campbellfield when the time comes. I'll let the photo's do the talking...
  16. I got that all fixed and continued to race it for the rest of 2009 and 2010 Superlap 2010 The awesome crew! 2010 superlap is when I realised that I wanted to do a big build and change the setup. I'd had a lot of success with the car with that setup. I was reaching the limit of the car where I couldn't drive the thing any faster. Seeing all the crazy cars at 2010 SL made me want to spend the money on my car to pick it up to the next level where my driving will again be the limiting factor. Not the car. The part of time attack I enjoy the most is improving my driving. In 2010 at EC I had enough sessions to squeeze out a 1:47.32 with a set of year old AO50's and some good advise from Troy 2011 I plan to go faster
  17. Few more pics from the last few years. In 2009 I did Superlap at Oran park. It was a big step up for me in terms of competition. It was my first introduction to TIME ATTACK! Oran park is an awesome track and I was way out of my league for that sort of event. Dispite this it was the start of my love for time attack. I also won a set of Advan RS wheels that year at a $10 raffle Later in 2009 I did the ATC with Troy (Roy) and again that raised the bar with what this car was capable of. Also in 2009 I stacked it at winton at a drift day. I got it repaired and that was the end of it's drifting days. I wanted it to be pure time attack...
