  1. Cheers guys, thanks for all the help. I am relieved that it is a normal sound. The car is heavily modified so I'm being paranoid about 'different' noises.
  2. Hi all, as the title reads, i hear an odd noise when the clutch is in. It's hard to describe, so i'll do the best i can. It sounds like it's coming from where the gearbox joins the motor, and it's like a rattling/whining type of sound. My next door neighbor had a listen to it and his first impression was a throw out bearing (not sure of spelling). But then he asked if it had an aftermarket clutch, which it does - it's a OS giken twin plate clutch, and then he said he's not sure what type of noises they make. I can't drive it on the roads as it is unregistered so i don't know what noises it makes whilst driving. Any help would be great... thanks in advance guys. Regards, Shaun
  3. 100% agreed! could not have said it better myself! R32's have a distinct shape and are totally different from R33's. No way i could say to myself "oh well, no more cheap R32's, i'll just get an R33". The R32's will become more sought after. My .02 c! -Shaun
  4. that's shocking man! for someone to walk past, see the garage door open and pinch the wheels is a hefty job. They would've heard people inside and probalby wouldn't have had the guts to do it, i know i wouldn't... but i aint a thief, so i don't know how they think. Was there anybody else who knew that nobody was going to be home? It just seems too far fetched that someone walked past and saw them and nabbed em! I'd be looking at the cleaners personally... but that's what i think. Best of luck man! -Shaun
  5. So you've submitted one then? As long as you've submitted it by today then you'll be sweet. I e-mailed DOTARS and made sure mine had been approved... [email protected] - drop them a line. Regards, Shaun
  6. lucky my import approval was approved 3 days ago
  7. good thread... interesting to see what people have owned/driven... 1. '94 honda accord on learners (mum's) 2. standard VL 3. converted VL to turbo with calais interior (pretty much a new car) 4. R34 GTT 5. R32 GTR should be landing soon!
  8. my 32 coming into the country also has a T78. I haven't been told it is too much of a hassle with compliance, so i'm not too worried.
  9. hey guys, i got my stock R34 GTT perfect and untouched... but was is their to grab on a stockie? Didn't have a head unit to begin with so i knew that wasn't taken. Speakers were aftermarket but weren't touched. Now i'm importing a heavily modified R32 GTR, which i am worried about what's going to get taken. It's got twin z32 afms, safc, head unit, etc, and a lot more. If it lands and everything is still there, i'll be very fortunate. If not, well then what can you do!
  10. Welcome to the forums. Not sure if this will work but i've 'attempted' to attach a pic of my previous ride, a red R34 GTT. -Shaun
  11. well first of all i'm just grateful my gf doesn't know how to drive a manual! anyways, i used to drive a sleeper VLT, and she hated it. THen i imported a red R34 GTT, and she loved it! but then again, it is a hot car. Now, after getting rid of the 34, i'm getting a monster R32 GTR, and she's like "it's ugly, the red one is better". Bah, can't win!
  12. chill guys, no need to take it out on other people. yeah, the article says that he may have suffered from psychiatric illnesses in the past, so who knows what was going through this guys head. hate it how they've said "red Nissan Skyline", automatically i thought of a r33 or something, then i saw the pic... it's obvious what people are going to assume by the title. sympathy to the family & friends of the officer involved.
  13. lol, yeah same as me man. My boss told me off for scrolling through the 120 pictures that were available! R33 GTR wheels look schmick on it! I'll be sure to update everyone as soon as it arrives, because i'm sure a lot of people are as keen as me to see how it goes. -Shaun
  14. hehe yeah, that's what the mechanical inspector said "owner states that it wasn't use for race... except those stickers on the side tell me differently" thought they're dated a few years ago, i think it looks ok. Most race cars that i've seen through j-spec have cages, monster gauges all down pillar, racing harness, warn driver seat or aftermarket bucket seat, body not in good order, etc. This one looks great (except for the front guard and roof), and the mechanic said "it drove extremely well, and it's tuned excellent". I just hope he is reliable...
  15. yep, that's the one. well, apparently the owner did not race it (apparently). He said he accelerated hard every now & again while using it as a daily driver. But, how much of that are you going to believe... Yeah, i think it looks too much 'sleeper like' for a jap car. I mean, there's 2 little gauges on the left of the steering wheel, boost controller & turbo timer below it... just doesnt look like it was raced. I mean, nearly every heavily mod'd gtr in jap has a roll cage, so it's odd how this one doesn't. BUT, what can you tell by pictures, might've been removed for all we know. But the mechanical inspection said nothing about a cage, so i don't know. NXTIME - yeah, thanks man. i just hope everything goes sweet with it. Jolinator - in the list it says 'aftermarket computer', so it's not just running the SAFC
  16. hey guys, this is the list of mods which is on the 32 that i'm getting. Aftermarket stainless exhaust manifold and external wastegate HKS 272 cams HKS intercooler HKS exhaust Apexi S-AFC Aftermarket radiator Remote oil cooler relocation kit OS Giken twin plate clutch 600cc injectors Aftermarket oil cooler Twin Z32 air flow meters Brembo calipers with Apexi 2 piece slotted disks Stainless steel brake lines Tien tension rods HKS Hyper height adjustable suspension HKS Boost controller Aftermarket computer Impul 300kph speedo R33 GTR wheels Water pump and timing belt recently changed Let me know what you guys think, Regards, Shaun
  17. damn, that's hefty as! sweet! now i cannot wait till it lands... hopefully should be here within 3-4 weeks. i'll update you guys when it lands, cheers for the replies. Morgs - yeah, definately need fair bit of work to be able to run that much power. but, from the mods listed it looks as if it would be able to handle a lot. Regards, Shaun
  18. yeah, sure does look a treat! i just hope everything goes well... that's all u can say when importing a car i suppose.
  19. sweet, sounds great! i'm looking forward to driving it when it arrives. I appreciate your help, Regards, Shaun oh yeah, one more thing - how much power has ur 32 got? also, if you've ran it down the quarter, what time did you get? Cheers.
  20. ah k, that's not as bad as i was thinking. ya, i've got hks cams, but not too sure about cam gears. thanks for the reply, Regards, Shaun oh yeah, and another thing, how does it drive on the road? i mean, if you're just driving normal and not wanting to go on boost, is it alright to drive? i'm just wondering how it's going to go as a daily driver... hehe, i'm sure ppl will get a scare once i rev up to 5500
  21. ya i put a hks hi power exhaust on my r34 gtt and found that it breathed a lot better and gained a bit of power. i think it's a 3". plus, love the note of a nice exhaust...
  22. on my r34 gtt, i had a hks pod and stock bov - people thought i had a atmo because it whistled loud and let off a psshhhtt (not extremely loud) which sounded sweet! and even better because it was legal...
  23. heya all, i'm getting a R32 GTR with a T78-33D and was just wondering what sort of lag should i expect? Anyone know at what rpm full boost will arrive? Any help would be great, Regards, Shaun
  24. yeah in my 34 gtt i usually got around 350 k's out of a tank. mods are exhaust and pod, and giving it a boot every now & again... you know... normal driving
