  1. This may sound like a silly question but what gauges do you guys deem as essential for a turbo car? I see a lot of cars kicking round with a million gauges on them but the question is would really bother on a street car? Of course the first response will always be Boost gauge but after that how do the other gauges rate? Temp gauges? Air/Fuel gauges? Any feedback appreciated.
  2. My mate had a RX4 with a 13B NA engine. This car had the maddest exhaust I've ever seen. Twin 3.5" dumps from the engine right the way through, There were two hot dogs per outlet so 4 in total, this went back into a truck muffler with twin outlets. I've never heard anything louder. Outside it was loud, inside wasn't too bad btu what do you expect from that setup... That car was fast. 12K RPM redline from a professionally built setup...
  3. Fibreglass breaks even if it is repaired expertly. A better repair job might not break as easily but it will break if hit hard enough in the right spot. A good repair should be like a new one. It might even be better.
  4. I agree with By By. I think that it is a personal choice on what car to mod. Modding an excel to low 14's would be more of a challenge than modding a Skyline to a similar time. I personally wouldn't mod an excel as it's what my Mum drives But each to his own. The best way to look at it is dollars spent to get to the time you run. If your car cost $20 and you spent $5K but someone elses car cost $14K and they spent $15K then you are in front in my books.... That's just an expample and not an actual figure
  5. I bought my Cefiro from Geoff @ Prestige. It wasn't one that he sent round on an email though. He worked to my budget and we found with with all the gear I wanted at my price range. He was very good and provided a nice spreadsheet to help with costings. This helped me to get the car on the road under my original budget. I don't know if $17K on road for R33 is possible though, maybe a slight accident damaged one.... I'm no Skyline price expert though!
  6. I doubt that there is anything you can do about the theft. Theft is quite common on ships from what I understand. You can ask the shipping company to see if they cover it though. After the car is complied it will need a blue slip, weigh bridge ticket, green slip and rego. Talk to your compliancer and they should be able to help you with the afters. The company who complied my car even did the blue slip and the weigh bridge ticket then sent me the paperwork so I could register it and drive it home from the shop. Don't forget to get an incurance cover note before you drive it too.
  7. Make sure the blue slip has the section regarding the engineering paperwork checked. My mate got a blue slip for his import but they failed to fill out the engineering paperwork section and he had to go back. When the queue in the RTA is very long this can really get you mad..... Blue slip is not the piece of paper that the RTA sends you with the sticker on it. That is blue but not a blue slip. A blue slip is a comprehenive check (apparently) of the car and all paper work when your vehicle is unregistered or been out out of rego for longer than 3 months.
  8. It's an R33 GTR cooler. I've heard GCG might be a good place to start.
  9. You can actually download PDF manuals for Tein shocks. There are some manuals here: http://www.tein.com/ti/tnissan.html but not for the R33 GTs-T but the shocks should all work fairly similarly. I think you will also find that raising and lowering the ride height changes the spring rate. So an incorrectly adjusted ride height could cause issues. I have a set of Tein's on my Cefiro and they rock hard. It's the price you pay for having coilovers. Whiteline website has a good article on coilovers vs "normal" shocks. It lists pro's and con's. Worth a read. The article is located here: http://www.whiteline.com.au/articles/coilo...r_H4s_2000a.htm Hope this helps.
  10. Can anyone suggest a workshop who is good at fabricating custom intercooler pipework? Preferrably north side of Sydney. Thanks,
  11. Whiteline may know their stuff when it comes to suspension but their customer service is crap. If you have a car that isn't really mainstream then they umm and ahh and just want to get rid of you......
  12. I'll join too Quick Q, Does anyone know anyone with a Cefiro? I've seen 4 including mine and only one other was in NSW.... Jr...
  13. Hi Guys, Can anyone recommend a company who can perform Intercooler repairs? I have one with a few holes in it that I need fixed. Thanks!
