  1. Area: Glen Waverley Location: Entrances/exits to the rsl carparks Danger: Deceptively "low-looking" entrance hump, I tried getting up this and almost smacked up my stock height front bar!!! Solution: Use the other carparks! Area: Carlton Location: Approaching the lygon st intersection from the eastern freeway, next to the Melbourne Cemetery. Danger: Extremely poor roads, your front bar will probably survive but your suspension will take a beating. Solution: Drive slowly with caution, even if traffic is banking up behind you!
  2. dazsQ - Sorry mate but I'm not interested in the normal EL dials at all, only reverse ones! If your supplier ever gets a set for s13s, I'll definitely be up for one.
  3. With reverse-lighting, the characters and marker lines light up (i.e like stock dials but with a funkier color!). With a normal backlit kit, the background lights up, but the characters and marker lines don't. They are a lot more common than the reverse ones (I haven't seen a reverse kit in the flesh yet) and IMO a tad too tacky.
  4. I'd be highly interested if you could get some for the s13/180s, and I'm pretty sure a few others from ns.com would be interested as well.
  5. Yeah, I've heard of this before in 180s as well. It appears that the engine management only applies the full voltage at higher revs by limiting the ground at lower revs. You can get a constant full voltage applied if you wire the pump directly to the chassis for a "complete" earth (i.e 0V at all revs, as opposed to 1-2V at low revs, and 0V only in the upper rev range).
  6. PM sent re. springs.
  7. nup, havent looked into it at all, wouldn't be worth it IMO. I'm pretty sure you need the master to run the cd-player. Still up grabs ppl. Can't get a CD player for this price anywhere else!
  8. Blitz DSBC. No flashy interface, but you can't go wrong with two solenoids.
  9. You can't see the master's display, at night or day. But both master's and slave's buttons light up with accessories, and the CD unit display works perfectly.
  10. sorry mate but $50 is going just a bit too low for me. I've already cut the price from $100!!! It's only $10 difference for you, but $50 difference for me! Re-iterating offer, $60 pick-up.
  11. I had a booking at N1 for a service first thing 8.30am on saturday. Woke up nice and early and got there on time. There was another 180 waiting there as well. Well I waited... and waited.... and waited.... Until it was about 9.30 then I left, feeling pretty p!ssed off. They didn't even call me later in the day/week to apologise or explain what happened. I don't think I'm going back there anytime soon.
  12. Well guys got it fixed yesterday (Thanks Faeez, you're a f**king legend!). We played around with the hoses a bit and checked that the actuator opened up the wastegate using a bicycle pump. As it turns out, the piping coming off the intercooler charge pipe to the solenoid had an air filter that was leaking. Now that it's fixed, the car feels a LOT slower; 7psi is nothing compared to 18!!! Oh, and I don't have an excuse to upgrade my turbo Anyways, thanks for your suggestions ppl.
  13. *** bump *** Now asking for $70 ONO. Someone out there's gotta want a cheap CD player!!! Just reiterating, vic buyers pick-up preferred but I will COD ($30) interstate.
  14. I got the manual checked out the settings. Low boost is 5bar and high is 7bar. Today I took it for a good fang and got the car up to 18psi in 5th!!! Needless to say, I let go of the accelerator pretty quick after that! 13_devil -> how did you get the EBC into learning mode? I've got the downloaded manual, but it doesn't say how.
  15. Trust33 -> Umm, I've only set it to stock, can't get any lower. I've also tried setting the boost to zero but that didn't work either, the car still overboosts. rb25 -> I've checked all lines and they are all ok, the controller came as is, installed with the car. I have a feeling it could be on a different high boost setting, I'm going to check this out tomorrow.
  16. Trust33 -> I'll have to check those knobs you mentioned. What do the ratio/time/offset knobs actually do? I have these three little knobs to the right of the main boost setting but haven't touched them since purchasing the car. BTW, I've already tried turning the controller off and it still overboosts, so it's not the EBC's fault. Low25 -> Yes, the profec A does have an OverTake Boost (O.T.B) button but i don't know how much it increases boost by, it lasts around 10 secs though.
  17. Everything is set up right, no leaks in hoses and the factory solenoid has been removed completely. The boost is spiking to more than double what it is set to, this is what's scaring me. If it was only 0.1 bar or 1 to 2 psi it would be OK but double the boost says something is definitely wrong. The only other option I can think of at the moment is to purchase or lease another profec A solenoid to see whether that works or not.
  18. Hey there fellas. I currently own a 180sx fitted with a Greddy Profec A EBC. Immediately after fitting a boost gauge (now a while back), I saw that the needle regularly reached 16psi. This was quite alarming as the EBC was only set to 7psi (stock). After I noticed this, I verified that the boost gauge was working properly and was not faulty, by verifying that the EBC readout also reached 1.0 bar (14psi or thereabouts) as well. First question; why is the car not holding boost around 7psi as it should? I have a feeling that either the solenoid or the actuator is stuffed. Are these problems common or unheard of? Which brings me to a third question; if the actuator needs to be replaced, is it possible to purchase and fit an actuator separately? Or do I need to replace the whole turbo assembly? I'm starting to get a bit freaked out that my turbo or engine is going to suddenly explode, so your help is greatly appreciated.
  19. As topic states, I have a Master/Slave Dual DIN Carrozzeria (aka Pioneer) HU pair for sale. Selling due to recent HU upgrade. They are both in good condition and consist of an equaliser (master) and a CD player (slave). However, please take into account that the master's display does not illuminate for an unknown reason, and a manual is unavailable. Both the faceplate and the manual are possibly available as separate items through Pioneer Australia or Canada, if not Pioneer Japan. The HUs came with the car from Japan and have a Japan->Australia frequency adjuster, making it useable with Australian radio frequencies. Details are as follows: Model No.s: KEH-P770 (master), CDS-P77 (slave) 5 preouts for four speakers and a sub 4 x 35W output Playback of cassette tapes and factory CDs (not CDR/RWs/MP3s) Numerous screensaver displays Green/aqua illumination, green backlight Detachable front panel for equaliser (master) 3 individual user equaliser preferences Different equaliser settings for rock, jazz and classical Balancer/fader Frequency adjuster for converting Japanese to Australian radio frequencies Labelled wiring for simple installation When I took out the HU, I also forgot to remove the cassette. So you also get a free Initial D cassette tape with the deal If you can read Japanese, more details are available here Looking for $100 ono. Vic buyers are preferred for pickup but can post at buyers expense. Interested parties please PM. Update: Sold pending payment
