hey guys dont know if anyone can help but the aircon in me mums 2000 model astra has died in the ass... we have been quoted around $900 for the compressor to get the thing fixed well **** that.... if anyone can get one cheaper new is pref or tell me where to get one... i would appreciate it...

Any one know where i can get a really cheap front bar from... dont care what it looks like only going to be temp while i get mine molded.... i dont wanna spend alot something around $150 would be nice..... even second hand as long as i can attatch a number plate and dont gotta give it back....

yea good idea dude just remember to tell everyone not bring their skylines that night or everyone will go home wif defect notices..... maybe bring down government officials or something not cops.....

Mate u are getting ripped hard!!!! I got my skyline for 24 and it was wored and only done about 3000km from engine rebuild (not fake km either) i suggest u have a look at this forum and have a read of it got some really good advise on buying a skyline... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=35129 keep looking around man till you find something a bit cheaper or with a bit of good work done on it and in a good clean condition...

Mate i agree with inark .... i am on P's and i do drive a R33 but i am responsible on the road as i know it's capability and i am also aware of my own... i am planning on doing all the mercott courses when i save up enough to do them which will be around Christmas and would also like to get my CAMS licence... not to race the car but to understand it... as i said in a previous post im a pilot and i know the full limitations of the aircraft and that has been taught to me i didnt test it... i believe a similar situation should occur on the road as well... And Inark is also right when it comes to other drivers who aren’t on p's some of them are no better and can even be worse than what you are saying we all apparently are...

Leewah mate u got it in one ur the Devil go away na jk... seriously you have a point but with the right training and possibly with the right influence you would just have to hope that the people who do pass have the maturity to drive sensibly... As in the "other" forum one dude said he was a formula 3 driver and he has had a few stacks as has Michael Schumacher and we all know he’s one awesome driver... if people can understand that even the best have accidents then maybe people will be sensible and follow the rules and not think that they are god... You would also have to hope that if people were shown how dangerous it is once you are in a spin at even 50km/h it might knock some sense into them and if it doesn’t well mate they are never going to change.....

Mate totally agree with you i dont think you could get any more right in what you are saying... I think the best way we can get this to happen is start a petition and find the right places to send it.... maybe we need a voting system set up which can be signed on the website maybe the committee could look into this and get back to us on it.... we also need to be able to get the pertition signed out of SAU as well if possible...

mate i think you have missed a lot of threads because as a lot well almost all of us have said that we send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of those who have died and that we were all very sorry that it happened..... we have also discussed the other issues which will arise from this accident so take it easy mate we all know it's a tragedy...

mikem that’s a fair point but you also have to look at the amount of p platers driving around in V8's which are not legal as well yet the cops don’t crack down nearly as hard as they do to a p plater in a skyline.... Mate some exceptions should be made under the right circumstances and with the right testing... i have a modded R33 as well and i dont drive like a wank which most people think i would just because of the car im driving.....

Mate no joke if we had similar training to drive a car as what is done to fly an aircraft the road would be so much safer.. again of course comes down to the teacher and what not but im a pilot as well and i tell you what damn it's not easy but you respect your aircraft and you also get taught what it can and cant do....

I don’t know if this is worth while but what we almost need to do is an advertising campaign which encourages safe driving for all drives especially import drivers... which may sink in coming from more the public more so than a "government organization".... This may also go over well with the police to show we are also trying to stop stupidity on the road..... We possibly could even have meetings with police etc to discuss our views on how we feel the issue could be handled which may even cover changing laws regarding powered cars, because based on what some people have expressed in this forum on import cars and weather it be driven by p platers or a 24 year old is still hard to drive and training and maturity is the key... possibly an Advanced test needs to be taken before these cars can driven to aid saving lives instead of the current fining people which is proving useless. It seems all people do is just pay them or not even bother… Some feedback on this suggestion would be good to hear….

They dont seem to enforce it on P platers and most likely the R33 involved in the crash wasnt stock (can anyone clarify this??( Mate i just saw the skyline on the news it was pritty quick but appreaed to have a front mount so u would have to guess that the car has some kinda of modz..

NismoR34 Thanx for the info on the Power to Weight i was unaware that it was so low... Once i finish the work im doing at the min i will look into getting a stock turbo to back my power off.... i know that my skyline is bloody heavier than norm and with the sound system i wanna try get as close to legal as possible.... I hope also that everyone learns from this and drives safer in aid to promote import drivers as one of the safest on the road.... It is also good to see that the government is going to look into driving courses for all drivers before they get their licence (hopefuly will be more than a look), something in which i believe is critical for all drivers... and to all P Plate skyline drivers out there take it easy guys and let your speed and aggression out on that track if you have to not on the road drive safe.....

mate i agree with you the goverment and cops are wanting to limit accident and training is the only way to do it.. that AAMI one is all very good but it's all in the dry.. my mate did it and was showing off and i was in the car (only a honda accord) and it was wet had an accident noone was hurt no real damage just a few scratches but training ahs to be in all conditions as well....

mate you might be right but my calculation on the 33 is you can have around 200kwrw to be just under the power to weight....

Bass Junky mate i totally see your point and yea it's a fair point... but as you and i both know the way the law works all you do is go home put a stock turbo on get a RWC and then slap the T66 or what ever back on.... if it came down to actually stopping people from putting the turbo back on i would agree.. i have more power than I’m aloud and yea your right it's wrong but car came with it and I don’t go around hammering my anywhere and it does have the power to do it as well all know the skyline does and if i get pulled i will prob buy a stock turbo slap it on for a year till i off me p's and then put the other one back on... i got the car for it's looks and what not more than its power. Guess its not going to change and sure i will put up with it just would be nice to see the police and import drivers meeting at a point more than everyone being against each other... and yes driving courses have to be the way to go and mate track and calder are the places to let yourself go and i dont agree more with going down in a safe environment to let go but not on the roads where others are at risk.....

Fair enough it is hard to distinguish between good and bad drivers but to pull you over constantly is just ridicules. if you were speeding or what ever fine but to pull you over for no reason is my argument... sure it's hard they want to stop people doing stupid stuff but i believe only pull someone over for doing the wrong thing.... as the law apparently say you are innocent until proven guilty.. which should mean don’t pull someone over unless they are doing something wrong don’t assume they will do the wrong thing..

yea na mate i agree with you i have been driving since i was 16 on me l's and drove cars from me mums front wheel mazda to a rear wheel V6. When on me L's i admit in the V6 i was a lil stupid burnouts etc... but when i got my lancer which is gutless as .... i learnt to respect the and the road and it's rules never been booked for nothing... now that i have my skyline it's the same deal.. i dont drive the car because it's powerful i drive it because of my passion for cars... i just feel it should come down to a person by person situation not be judged on what everyone else does and how they drive... it's always the small group that wrecks it for everyone i say....

NismoR34 mate i kinda agree with you im on my P's and i do have a skyline... but i dont go round trying to make it drift i respect my car and it's power... it would be good to see the cops have tollerance for people who do the right thing, to just pull someone over for nothing and drill them i dont see fair... but i also find most of the time the people causing half the Drift and Drag problems are VL drivers....

Typical to see the good old Vic Cops doing their job the way they see best.... more like an opportunity to make more money off the import community .....
