  1. as Duncan has said, if you take it easy (as you should on your first time out) you'll be fine as far as engine goes. the main concern with your engine is to make sure you don't over rev it and your cooling and support systems are fine.... run a bottle of octance booster on 98RON fuel, run STOCK BOOST, and make sure your coolant is relatively fresh. Other than that there's a few things you need to do on the day to take care of your car but which ever team member or experienced driver you choose to come out with you can make sure you understand all that needs to be done You're main concern should be brakes, just make sure you got decent fluid and that your pads have plenty of meat left on them... otherwise I'd reccomend bringing a spare set of pads just in case.... I'd also consider getting the discs machined... it doesn't take much and may be a great help to you out on the track good luck Jimbo and we'll hope to see you there
  2. what is happening with this day Messiah??? this thread has been here since february and nothing has happened yet..... can you please advise on what's happening as if it's not going to happen then it wont neeb to be stickied thanks Tosh

  6. so is this an event that is already being organised by aothers or are you looking at organising it yourself?
  7. CAMS Licence requirements vary from event to event. If you attend a CAMS Sanctioned speed event (supersprint, hillclimb etc...) then you will require a CAMS Licence. If any event requires a CAMS Licence then the supplementary regulations for that event will specifically state what level of CAMS Licence you need. For most open practice trackdays, skidpan days and drift days you wont need one... You need one when the event you go to is a competitive event. Again the regulations will state if you need one or not and what level you need. Just make sure you read them and if it doesn't mention it then you don't need one. As for drag racing you don't need a CAMS Licence to go drag racing even if it is a competitive event like the nationals or drag combat etc.... You will however need an ANDRA Licence based on their requirements... CAMS have nothing to do with Drag Racing AFAIK, it's all handled by ANDRA

  12. 2 words about the datto...... F**KING HANDFUL took me a bit to get used to it as it handles like a boat but after a little bit of advise from a friendly rotary driver I was starting to get the hang of slinging it sideways.... As Duncan has already said it needs a few things: 1. STIFF AND LOW suspension 2. Smaller steering wheel 3. MUCH tighter handbrake 4. New Seat 5. New Engine and 5 speed gearbox (pending compression test) 6. New Radiator All in all I was fairly happy with the way it went throughout the day, the locked diff certainly provided some entertainment for the crowd watching at times
  13. I'm not fussed at all as an events organiser just make sure you pitch it as a forum event and not an official club event Also we need details ASAP (date, location, cost etc...)
  14. Ash, not a good idea
  15. 1. Looks better without the wing 2. AFIAK it's only legal NOT to have a front number plate if the car is manufactured without anywhere to mount it. I could be wrong but I've seen a fair few Ferrari's without them. Your car does have a mount for the plate so you'll get pinned for not having one
