  1. curently mine only does it in second after putting in plugs that i have not gapped down. So yes it can do it in certain gears as the load is different depending at what gear u in at WOT
  2. a number of factors can effect it, bascalyl it isnt getting as stronger spark all the time thats why it misses at high rpm. If hte plugs are old or u dont know when they wher echanged get soem NGK copepr plugs they are cheap, u can get ones that are already gapped to 0.8 , if u do a search they u can find the part code. I remember u dont wanna buy the plus with -11 after the number becasue that indicates a 1.1ml gap. Dodgy/old /cracked coils will also casue a miss fire.
  3. Hi guys, When i had my power fc tune my tuner advised i have a slightly leaking injector in cylinder 1. He said its nothign to worry about at this starge but may cause it to idle at bit rough. Has any one experienced this type of proplem? Does any one know what effects it could have? wher eits headed or what caused it? Im guessing Age and prob slightly clogged? Thanks in advance.
  4. Id say its ur spark plug gap. If ur plugs are at 1.1ml gpa them to 0.8ml and it should be fine.
  5. Looking to sell ASAP! Can respray bonnet if in brisbane.
  6. So basically if it took 10 psi to make 200rwk stock turbo and 10psi on a gt30r made for arguments sake 230rwkw. The eninge is under more load with the gt30r? AM i correct saying psi is not a direct relation of stresses on teh motor.
  7. I thought of painting my C/F one too, but with occasoin road side police checks i didnt want ot risk it. As soon as the police man lifts the bonnet it is obvious its not the stock metal one. If you think you cna get away with it id just paint it too. Its also quiet satisfing when the police man says he is ticketting u for the bonnet and you whip out a ADR letter I know a couple of guys with painted C/F bonnets and they havent had any dramas as of yet.
  8. Hmm i might try that with the trigger and brush stroke next time. Its defifnelty given me a bit of confidence too Craved. I figure if u dont mind stuffing up a few times and you take the advise of those before you it can all work out ok in the end. Thanks again to all those who contributed to this thread
  9. Yeah once i clear it over agian it will look good. The good thing is when i get bored i can try soemthing diferent. On embay i found a additive u add to clear that give is a blue perlecent tinge at the correct angles. Im just trying to think of a application so i can give it a try Frost make sure u keep us update how ur going and post up some progress pics!
  10. DMD was reselling ADR approved bonnets made by www.blitsbodykits.com.au Cheaper to go direct.
  11. Lamo i told my Partner i couldnt afford to buy her a valentines present becasue i have to spend the money on my car she was fine with it hehe!
  12. The end result looks 10 times better in person. Ive been gettgin lots of looks and people commenting positivley about the glitter. Its not something u see every day. The gun cost me $75 from ebay. You can get ones with only one size nozzle for about $40 that will prob do just as good a job. oh and if u have 4L of acrylic paint make sure u dont just buy 4L of thinnners. Most of my ratios where 1part paint to 1-1.5 parts thinners. You will also need thinners to keep your gun clean between each stage. Flakes cost me $35 for 50Grams , i used half of that. Another point where i went wrong- Whith the clear when i pressed the trigger the gun would drop a few droplets and then do the same again when i let go. Because of this i had to start the spraying before the bonnet and stop the spraying after the bonnet. It only dripped like this with my clear coat. I dont really know why? Oh and try and be mindful of where you do it, i had lots of mist floating next door :S i put up a plastic screen and built a card board wall lmao. True DIY GHETTO style paint job.
  13. Ok Guys i got some pics and some info on how i went. For starters i used a cheap GMC electric compressor and a GRIP spray gun with a 1.4m and a 2m nozzle. I bought the gun off ebay last week. Metal flakes bought off ebay too. Do a search for 'metal flake' Cutting compound was bougth at autobahn cant think of the name of it right now. I havent cut and buffed it yet. This is my first time spraying, only other attempts ive had where out of cans lol. I did not trial paint anything with the gun and it shows in the job i have ended up with. Things i did wrong. -Could have spent a little more time preping and filling some of the un eveness of my fibreglass. -I had 1L of cleat which was not enough. I ran out of clear as 2 coats where used applying the glitter. Because of the glitter the clear coat on top of that has to be thiker. I plan to add more clear another day. -The Glitter settled in the bottom of the gun. Becasue it didnt stay suspended in the clear coat in the canister the gun sprayed out way too much glitter. -i have not buffed or polished this yet as i still need to add more clear. Over all this was a fairly good outcome considering how ameture i approached this. It was a great learning experience. Pics as follows - keep in mind it needs more clear and to yet be buffed. The glitter helps cover up my mistakes to the average person. I plan to get more pics as my work progresses. Thanks for all the great advise from every one in this thread, especially Frogman
  14. Stock r33 series 1 bonnet $120 and Dtock ECU $100 Brisbane PM or sms 0412 282 473
  15. I used a Grip HVLP gun i used a 1.4m for primer and black then the 2.0ml for the glitter and clear. After using hte 2ml i realise i should have used the 2ml the whole time. I used acrylic paints. Very pleased with my self actualyl lol
  16. I upgraded to a PFC and noticed oil down the line of the harness and in the plug. they only way i could explain it was when the previous owner dusteed a piston it would have sprayed oil in teh engine bay and some ran down the wiring harnes, Well i hope thats the casue. Id hate to find out there was a leak some where :S
  17. Did u unplugg it at the harnes plug or did u unwire everything? possible a loos wire soem where dodgy connetion?
  18. Geeze, i thought hopefully thefts where slowing down. Thanks for the heads up! I only hope they do not succeed
  19. Ok painted my fibreglass bonnet on the weekend. Put the primer down went ok, then sanded it and then i did a guide coat of black and sanded it. then another coat of black sanded it ao everything was smooth. I then applied 3 layers of black. After that dried i did one layer of clear with holographic metal flakes. then applied about 3 more light coats of clear. I used 1L of clear and it was not enough. I think the because i have metal flakes i need to make my top coat of clear thicker. Next week end i may attempt to cut it back a little and add more clear. I will post up a pic of my effot so far in the next day or two. Im fairly satisfied for my first attempt. its not the best job tho. The metal flakes cover up my mistakes
  20. Im contemplatig the same power figure as it a cheaper option than my mechanics recommndation which will give me 260+rwkw. Those with around 230rwkw can u give soem sort of idea of wha tits like to drive? is ther emore wheelspin? is the extra power more useable? etc thanks.
  21. Its quiet a leagnthy process getting ADR for bonnets. I was having a casual chat with the owners of Blitsbodykits. they are the only company so far to have a aftermaket vented bonnet ADr approved an dits fibreglass ( i own one). they mentioned the R&D proccess was long wined as when a desing was completed QT would then want some thing changed. The restrictions put in place to meet the ADR end up making hte bonnet heavier than soem of the C/F and fibreglass bonnets doing hte rounds. The end result of the ADR bonnet howver is one of very high structural streangth and quality. I wouldnt got back to a C/F one after this ADR one. Would be good to see if a C/F one can get approval.
  22. Yep i know first hand having owned one and been fined then ordeed to change it. They are illeagle as no CArbon bonnet has passed and ADR approval, if ur in QLD cops have been cracking down on it. The only solution i found was a fibre glass option from www.Blitsbodykits.com.au . They are the only manufacture of fibreglass vented bonnets that meet ADR and come with a ADR letter so u will have no problems with the police. They are a great price! particularly when u take into account the ADR approval. Having owned a C/F bonnet and now this ADR fibreglass bonnet i can say structurally the ADR fibregalss one is tops! i would not get any thing else
  23. Thanks Wazr32gtst. I didnt connect the orange wire would that make a difference? Im guessing the long red wire goes to power the green goes to ops and the black goes to the ops as well
