  1. Payment sent. Thanks Michael. First power-up mod i've done so getting excited already.
  2. Hey all, Just saw on the vicroad website that they have introduced a safe driver reward scheme whereby you get a 25% discount on your license renewal when you have received no demerit points for the preceeding 3 years. Finally Vicroads have opened their eyes and have started rewarding good, safe driving not just punishing bad, dangerous drivers. My years of safe driving have paid off! http://www.arrivealive.vic.gov.au/c_driverRewards_faq.html Oh a look... Cool as. Rhett
  3. WHEN DOES IT START? The new graduated licensing system will be introduced gradually over the next two years to make sure that young drivers are prepared for each new requirement as it is implemented. The new alcohol-interlock rules for drink drivers on Ps or aged under 26 years will start in January 2007. The new learner permit rules will start from July 2007, as will the new high powered vehicle restrictions for P drivers. All the new P1/P2 rules and the new driving test will start from July 2008. Straight from the vicroads site. As long as you get your P's before !st July 2007 you should be fine. And anyway i doubt that they will have R34 GT's on the list as high po 6's. At least not initially.
  4. If it helps Ive got the same wheels on my car (except 17's) and the offest is something like +28 on the front and +35 on the back? Or something close to that. Definately fit the r32 gtst well (at least in 17s) and i'm pretty sure SSR only make 1 offset thats suitable for gtst. Rhett
  5. Hey Michael, Put me down for 1 SS split pipe for an R32 Gtst. What a group buy, was going to go for a mild but at this price may as well go stainless.... Unless youre planning a GB for mild dump pipes?? Rhett

    World Cup!

yeah shit house refs - 3 yellow cards for 1 player in a game? That must be some kind of record? What the fu(k do the refs write in their little books anyway if not the players numbers that get yellow cards? Their boyfriends phone numbers? And what does the assistant ref watching the video do? The hand ball penalty was a perfect opportunity for the video/assistant ref, the play was stopped and there was no doubt it was a penalty! I mean I'm just getting into soccer myself, but what is most off putting for me is the level of unprofessionalism with refereeing. How dodge is it that the ref can just stop the game or let it go on as long as they want? Like with Aus vs Brazil, there was at least 40 seconds to go and we had the ball and were attacking and the ref ended the game.
  7. Sellout. There was someones white r33 gtst sitting in the foyer at karringle hub cinemas for the fast and the furious 3 release. A good way to make some money just by having ur car sit there....
  8. This might be a stupid question but how are you going to drive your car in the snow? You cant fit snow chains.. I'm thinking a rear wheel drive turbo car with wide tyres would be close to undrivable once it hits the snow.
  9. So why isnt optimax extreme cheaper than regular 98 octane optimax, if it has ethanol in it? Wasnt that the whole point of having ethanol in fuels?
  10. Write down a contract next time! I thought this was common knowledge? Just something simple like "The seller agrees to sell the car for x dollars on condition of a favourable mechanics report etc etc"... And both of you sign it. There is even a sample sale contract you can download from racv or nrma etc etc, thats what i did, includes a condition report.
  11. I cant believe how many idiots have posted in this thread? Why is it so hard to beleive Anjoos story? Its not, plenty of us around here have had run ins with bogans etc. I have twice had people try to hit me in my car and run me off the road!! And 3 not at fault accidents in a few months - its not so hard to beleive either. Just because you were involved in an accident recently, doesnt mean you have less chance of being in one the next time you get in your car - they are mutually exclusive events. So Anjoo, I believe you. All you knockers, next time you post up looking for sympathy when someone writes off your pride and joy, I'll be waiting, ready to laugh at your misfortune and poke fun at you. Rhett
  12. Putting on my best Napoleon Dynamite voice: Ahhh. Idiot.
  13. Yeah i was going to have lunch on a dyno. Wait, launch i get it now...
  14. Yeah I might drop by if im not working etc... my be interesting. Whose r33 gtst is sitting in the Karringle Village Cinemas? Good job if you can get it i suppose, having your car sit there in the foyer and getting paid for it.
  15. As long as the skanks from the Frankston Kittens club arnt there, Im in. I'd like to see those "broads" try to get the brake dust off my white wheels!
  16. Why would the Vic police bring in the NSW p plate law when we have one ourselves that in my opinion works better than a blanket ban?
  17. How old are you? What state do you live in? Realistically, how much can you afford to spend on a car upfront and how much per month to run it? Questions that need to be answered before anyone can give you any real help in choosing a car. I bought a r32 gtst, and im happy with it. Its no where near the fastest thing on the road, but its pretty quick and has done 80000km with me at the wheel and hasnt missed a beat. And with a $12k budget, you cant afford anything else Car $12000 Rego $500 Insurance $1500 Clutch when it lets go $700 etc etc etc.....
  18. If they werent growing rice in QLD there would be heaps of water... You know it uses 1400 litres of water to produce 1 kg of rice in Queensland?
  19. And there's no way they are "surface" temps - if they were you expect purple colour all the way across - its more like a cross section or a sum of all the heat from that part of the pipe.
  20. From having a good look at that pic it seems the guyt that comment has got it wrong. The outer edge of the pipe on both sections is at about the same temperature, but the decrease in air temp within the coated section is much slower than that in the uncoated section. (The gradients in the graph are different, the gradient in the coated section is lower therefore less temp drop than the uncoated section with a larger gradient). Conclusion: That coating keeps more heat in the exhaust air than with uncoated mild steel.
  21. As Paul said its better to have the pod completely sealed from underbonnet air intake. The pod will suck enough air if it have a single 3inch feed. The second you open it up to underbonnet air there is no point having the cold air feed, it'll start sucking air in through the path of least resistance - i. the holes into the engine bay. And you'll lose more power from increased air intake temps than from a slight pressure drop from the intake system. I know (at least from working with air compressors) that a 3 degree increase in intake air temp decreases power by about 1%. So it Cold air intakes are most important at low speeds and when taking off. The faster you are going, the less a cold air intake is needed as more air is forced into the engine bay anyway. And the second you increase speed, the pressure drop across the inlet pipe will decrease due to the air being forced into the intake piping - the ram air effect.
  22. Yeah there is no way to get around it. Get a gtst until your off ur P's. And by the way have you looked into insurance yet? You'll be paying upwards of $3000 a year. Or just get it and be prepared for a major arse-loosening the first time the cops pull you over. (And everytime after that)
  23. Yeah my cars got it too - it had it from Japan though. One day when its starts to piss me off to much i'll use a syringe to inject some glue and clamp it down for a few hours - i cant see how it wouldn't work. And i couldnt be bothered sourcing a new immaculate dash and installing it.

    Scenic Drives

I like it how you spelled awesome wrong after almost spelling Ettamogah right!
  25. Every day. Usually about 500km a week. Paid $1.53 yesturday for petrol. Its expensive but still cheaper than having another run around car. And i get to enjoy myself everyday driving the skyline too!
