  1. The only pannels common to GTR and GTS are: doors mirrors bootlid Have I missed anything?
  2. All petrol has some amount of Toluene in it though. What do you mean by 'solvent'? What are the aromatics in Vortex 98 then? What does Caltex use to raise the Ocatne to 98? Shell optimax does not have its RON increased. It starts at more than 98 RON and is cut.
  3. The Vortex 98 we get in Sydney (from Kurnell) is very rich in Toluene...you can smell it!
  4. For a moderate RB26, running about 650hp, is it worth my while cleaning up the ports on the head? The inlet side seems to be pretty good, so will probably just clean up the castings. But what about the exhaust side? Can the 'bumps' be removed? What are they for?
  5. Yep..dirty, white BCNR33's are ugly...that's why my white BCNR33 is spotless
  6. Spotted...BU5TER standing beside his BCNR33 look-alike in Drummoyne last night.
  7. Yeah..thanks for that. I guess ACL reccomend the extra clearance for the 26 because they typically make a bit more power than the RB25. When they say 1 thou extra clearance, any idea what the clearance will come out at with a brand new crank? Cheers.
  8. On ACL's application guide, they reccoemnd the following bearings: RB25 mains: 6B296OH RB25 Big ends:7M2424H RB26 mains: 6B296OHX RB26 big ends: 7M2424HX Does anyone know what the difference is?
  9. So...I've got an idea. Maybe you should be sure about what you say before you flame someone who is right...
  10. Like most things on this earth, that works backwards too. A black body is a perfect absorber AND radiator of heat
  11. BNR34s have alloy front control arms
  12. Haha...right. How many BNR34 turbos have you seen? You seem so sure of yourself, do you want to lay some money on it?
  13. Nope...they definately have ceramic turbines. 1 bar absolute max...and even then they have been known to let go and take the engine with them.
  14. I have an old Perfromance Metalcraft Jun Copy sump baffle sitting here out of another engine. It is basically an OEM windage tray with baffles and swinging gates welded to the bottom of it. Are these okay, or would I be better off with the Tomei type baffle with rubber valves? I would go for the trust extension and baffle kit, but don't much like the idea of losing ground clearance.
  15. Let me guess...your turbos blew as well?? That looks to me like it's had ceramic dust go through it.
  16. I think what Tommyk is trying to say is that he has no idea how much power the car has now (or before), but it is reasonable to assume that it has 30hp more than it had before.
  17. It sounded like you missed third on that run tommy...which is why I got a shock when I saw the 11 come up.
  18. Come on...you know you want too!!
  19. Ahh...so the green TO4z-ified BNR32 is Morgs'... Apparently our 2 cars are the most powerful cars that have ever been on Jason's dyno.
  20. The 2560s should be far less laggy than the GTRSs though!!
  21. I'm about to source some big end and main bearings for my RB26. I have 4 options: * Genuine Nissan mains and big ends (not likely as the big ends are too soft) * NISMO (Good, becasue they are graded and I can easily get the clearance I want and supposedly good bearings) * Tomei (similar price to NISMO). * ACL Race I'm probably leaning towards the ACL race bearings becasue of price. Has anyone used these? The other thing is that I will be using a brand new crank, are the clearances likely to come out okay withe the ACL bearings given that they aren't graded? If they are too small, I can always lenish the crank a little, but what if they are too large? While I'm at it, I'm planning to run about 0.00125" - 0.00150" clearances. How does that sound? Thanks in advance
  22. Wrxhoon's old car had what are supposed to be the plain bearing equivalent of the 2560s. If I remember right, it made 1.2 bar at about 4300RPM under load. That car had stock head, stock cams, stock valve timing, stock dumps and a 3inch exhaust.
  23. That's what I thought too, until a friend had his oil analysed after a slight knock developed. It came back all clear...no signs of metal. 50kms later the knock got far worse. The engine is out, but he hasn't stripped it yet, but it seems like the number 6 big end picked up.
  24. I have a set of Tomei PONCAMS 9.15mm lift 260 deg duration. They have only done about 1000Kms (still have the balck maganese coating on them). I'm only changing them bcause I am going bigger. I will also have a set of NISMO 600cc injectors in about 3 weeks time. Mick
  25. They don't make split dumps
